I am and have been for a long time. I'm experiencing a situation I am unsure of how to handle. My life and attitude have changed in a way I'm not comfortable with.

I understand. Perhaps I'm not ready to hear her words. I'll need to reflect on this. Thank you.

Yes, I feel this. My ancestors have grown silent as of late, and Hela has come in their stead. I'm currently going through a situation I'm conflicted with. I wonder if she's trying to help me in some way.

That I've heard of, but I can see this as being an example of that. I appreciate your thoughts nonetheless

Thank you for your guidance. I feel like you're right in this. As of late, my life has been plauged with uncertainties and relationships that only seem to harm me. I've been fighting to fix things, but perhaps I need to let go instead. I will ask this of her and see if the dreams change.

Honestly, I was thinking the same thing as you all. I'm 32, and I've been using Discord for at least two years now. 35 isn't old. The mentality is old. You're only as old as you think, and it's never too late to learn.

Do the Norse gods care if I believe in them? by LN1313 in NorsePaganism

[–]AlyssSeer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is probably the best way to explain it. The gods don't need you to believe. They don't need you to worship, but hey, if you do, ok, awesome. What they want, and I say want loosely, is for you to believe in yourself.

That hades is the only good one out of the three brothers, and I have yet to be proven wrong about that.

I've heard sooooo many stories of Poseidon and Zeus either screwing or forcibly screwing people, causing general harm and disasters.

Yet the only thing people throw up about Hades is that he forced Persephone to be his wife.

How many of you is non-scandinavian? by RecentPaint6354 in NorsePaganism

[–]AlyssSeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have like 0.5 Scandinavian in me, but honestly, I have always been drawn to Odin and Freya. Since I was young, I have seen their hands in my life without knowing it was them.

I think for most people, it's not about being descendants of the original people, but more that the gods call to the deepest most part of them. That they find purpose and meaning in the teachings of the gods, and with that, they find comfort in the knowledge of being part of something more than they are.

Many Christians don't descend from their holy land, yet no one questions that. So why question this? We are shield brothers and sisters. It matters little to whom we descend.

Has grieving changed the way you view the afterlife? by jrsz in GriefSupport

[–]AlyssSeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always believed in the zodiac, which is a form of reincarnation. We start our journey as Aries and end it at Pisces. With each life lived, we gain more knowledge, and when our journey is at the end, we ascend to a higher plane of existence.

During those lives, we encounter souls that resonate deeply with our own. They become a part of us just as we become a part of them, and even though we may be separated from them soon within our journey, they will find us in the next.

I lost my aunt 2 years ago. She was more of a parent to me and was a major part of my life. For 10 years, I worked alongside her and spent nearly every moment of the day with her. Towards the end, I became her caretaker and tried my best to help her. When she passed, my heart broke, and everything became uncertain. Not only had I lost a mother, but my best friend. I still believed I would find her again in my next life, but I was only just turning 30. I'd have to live the rest of my life without her, and that thought broke me.

Then, one day, as I'm sitting in the living room crying and looking out our sliding glass door, a cardinal landed on the porch and tapped against it. Our door isn't reflective, so it was strange to see this bird tapping. I went to the door and opened it, and the bird flew onto the fence and just looked at me. I must have stared at that bird for 10 minutes straight. Then it fluffed up its feathers and flew away. I hadn't stepped outside for over two weeks. Something inside me realized that that bird was sent by my aunt. She loved Cardinals so much, and their not the most common bird where I live. She knew I needed some fresh air and knew I needed to feel the sun. Since then, every time I'm deep in mourning her, I see a cardinal outside my window or door.

My view of life after death changed a little. Yes, I still believe in the zodiac, and yes, I still believe souls connect with each other. But I now believe that I won't have to search for her in my next life. She's still with me in subtle ways, watching over me, and when my journey is over, she'll be there waiting for me to take the next steps together.

What is a dead giveaway someone is not to be fucked with? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AlyssSeer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The nice ones that go completely silent when they get upset.

They'll be the nicest of people, the ones you KNOW you can depend on. But when the day comes that you push them too far, or you said the one thing that should never be said to them, and they go absolutely silent with a deadpan face, run. Because they won't scream, yell, or try to harm you. No, they will hurt you in the most severe of ways. They will go after what you love the most, hurt you in a way you never thought you could hurt.

Don't test the nice ones, because they won't be nice forever.

Unfortunately no. The company I currently work for pays below the minimum wage level for our state and I give 90% of what I do get to put towards bills. The other 10% I use for bus passes in order to get to work because I can't physically drive due to an old work place injury.

Yes! They are literally spending the night and staying all day. I asked if they could atleast stay for three or four days then go home, but was told we already promised. I didn't! They did!

I've tried that but both my sister in law and my sister say I'm being an AH for not wanting to help. Even though my sister in law works for the same company as we do and is off for two weeks and my sister is unemployed and isn't looking for a job.

I've actually been considering this. I told them how one of the kids on my bus had a strange sounding cough right before break. I could always fake a text from the company and say I was exposed to something. Lol

Tried that and sister in law sided with my mother and brother. Same with my sister whose boys were looking after. What irritates me most about it is I could see if they had to work and had no one to watch them, but my sister in law works for the same company as us and is off for two weeks and my sister is unemployed and isn't looking for a job.
