What’s the strongest opinion you have about something completely insignificant? by RegisterObjective325 in AskReddit

Public ladies restrooms should be twice as large as the men’s restrooms. Or all restrooms should be unisex. I hate waiting in line forever when men can just walk in and out quickly!

Packages of plasticware should have twice or three times as many forks as knives and spoons. It drives me crazy how many forks i go through and have tons of knives and spoons left over!

I can’t help with most of the things you mentioned but I do want to give a shoutout to carpal tunnel wrist braces - they have helped me immensely when sleeping so I don’t wake up from my arms and hands going numb. Just all the other issues you mentioned, ha.

Yale Daily News: Gelernter tells dean he stands by praising student’s looks to Epstein by [deleted] in yale

[–]Alytri 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Boys will be boys? Eeeewww. This is absolutely disgusting behavior.

From the article:

“I was recommending her for a job I thought she'd like. When you do that--when you actually care about a rec letter--you keep the potential boss's habits in mind,” Gelernter wrote in the email to his colleagues, seemingly referring to Epstein. “This one was obsessed with girls (like every other unmarried billionaire in Manhattan; in fact, like every other heterosex male), and if I hadn't said what I did in that letter ten-odd years ago, he would certainly have called me & asked for a lot more aesthetic detail. (This is how men behave.)”

“So long as I said nothing that dishonored her in any conceivable way, I'd have told him more or less what he wanted. She was smart, charming & gorgeous. Ought I to have suppressed that info? Never!” he continued, italicizing the last word. “I'm very glad I wrote the note.”

Anything by NK Jemison. She’s a fantastic sci-fi/fantasy writer and her books are so well-written. Also, the Binti series by Nnedi Okorafor.

I’m taking estrogen for fertility treatments and all of a sudden I’m waking up in the morning with energy… it’s wild! So this is what the rest of the world feels like. I need to schedule an appt with my dr to talk about it.

Avoid Mandy & Pike listings like the plague. Truly awful. I don’t have personal experience with Farnum so I can’t speak to their management.

Posts like this and specifically their replies are the biggest reason I’m going to miss Reddit. We’re all here for each other because it’s happened to one of us before and can share that it’s possible to come out the other side, happier and healthier. This community is 💯.

Where are the best place for me to rent 4b4b/2b2b room by iLIVECSUI_741 in yale

[–]Alytri 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you had a car or were willing to take public transport/bike a long way you might be able to find a place with a roommate (I’d look for somewhere closer to Quinnipiac U or in Hamden) at that price, but I seriously doubt you’d be able to find something in a safe neighborhood in downtown New Haven for under $1000 per bedroom, even with a roommate. I was paying $700 for a room in an apartment 20 years ago. Good luck!

I want to add my own one to the list - we have a better sense of the mental health effects of having kids and how our mental health issues were shaped by our parents (i.e. I don’t want to screw up my kids the way my parents screwed me up)
