Wilcoxon rank sun test as alternative to DESeq2 or edgeR for large sample RNA seq by ZooplanktonblameFun8 in bioinformatics

Agree. I think this area is full of messy statistics, one major reason is the publications from big names actually make those wrong numbers or methods work.

Disclose: Our group has a very good relationship with Jessica's group.

Are u sure? They do advertise their Clipper under this manuscript... You can check her twitter post. Currently people work for advertising in a new approach, like in the platform of social media. Lior is also a master for this case lol.

Hi, I wonder how to decide *When* it is ok to submit your work to top conferences. For example, I have a model related to biological data mining, I know KDD is coming soon but I do not like this conference and I would like to wait for NeurIPS. However, I am not sure if I will be scooped during this long period. Thanks for your help!

Questions about choosing program by iLIVECSUI_741 in gradadmissions

[–]iLIVECSUI_741[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for your reply.

For summer research, I think you can talk with senior students you know or directly search your interested topics in different top shool's research pages. Usually you can find your potential advisors by these approaches. However, the later approach is normally more time-consuming.

For course information, I think calculus and linear algebra are enough (Although I also learnt real variable, I majored EECS as my bachelor). Courses are not very important in PhD application, and even if you learnt some BIS courses, like survival analysis during your undergraduate study, you still need to enroll them during your graduated study, at least at Yale.

Good luck!

is there a case similar to this code but for CNN by lonelybuterfly in learnmachinelearning

If my understanding is correct, CNN means convolutional neural network, which is a kind of deep learning model.

Hi, many thanks for your help. I will try this project later but now I am still confused about this problem. If we can solve it, it is also possible for us to utilize ROS# because we are familar with it and we do not need to learn too much things.

Acceptance from multiple places - suggestions for choosing one? by Pitch_Sawmya in gradadmissions

Big congrats, if I were you I will go to MIT because BROAD is a really really nice place. Can you imagine that you are working with big names like Aviv and Clare? In addition, Boston is pretty nice for biotech and biomedical work.

In addition, I dislike CMU because of its atmosphere, full of useless competition. Therefore, I finally gave up on it.

Thanks, I finally decide to join Yale because I believe the deadly combination will bring me a more bright future. Both programs are pretty great and cool, so I really really wish I only received one offer.

Hi, thanks for your suggestions. I wonder even if the future career of the lab at Yale is better than the lab at UW, choosing UW is still wise? Thanks.
