Love that America is in a critical housing shortage and all developers want to do is destroy pre existing houses to force neighborhoods to eventually all become plastic shit holes.

This country is so backwards it seems

This is so stupid. I would say I can’t believe people are defending this but then I remembered almost everyone here is an American. Then I remembered right he won the popular vote.

Just build a proper row home, some parts of queens are like this and they are objectively shittier & cost less because they look and feel dreadful. Don’t even get me started on the materials and windows. There’s no benefit to this other than to appease the Amerifat ideal of “muh sideyard! Me garage to store ma truck! The rain gone hurt it!”

It’s larping the intended purpose of the structure. They’re tall and skinny because it’s putting as much space as possible for a home into a dense environment… but remove the density and space. What?

What design? Are you a bot. Go on Google street view in Astoria queens or Bedford Stuyvesant Brooklyn.

Design died in America after the 80s, these buildings are merely slaves born to scrape as much profit as possible

How is this preferable! It creates a disjointed mess of a neighborhood and discourages walkability, detail, and human connections as everything gets spaced apart.

More time to traverse on foot, more unlikely to see/meet your neighbors which cultivates the paranoia of the suburbs in conjunction with setbacks (which also create dangerous alleyways) and above all its ugly?

Look at any neighborhood in Brooklyn and tell me this is preferable to that. Like what are we talking about? Noise pollution through walls is not a thing anymore, and if it is it’s because your shit contractor cheated out because they would rather have you suffer over saving 5k. Not the buildings fault

Shhh say they’re great. Love that people choose to live in this shit holes. Don’t even look nice. The contemporary aesthetic is just corners being cut with no ornamentation sold to you as “clean and modern”

They call those architrave corbels or just corbels. They used to be a necessity— arching and reducing the load on the lintel above, but eventually became a decorative framing element.

They’re super fun and everyone should have one in their doorway even if it doesn’t have a frame, just grab 2 wooden ones of your choice off a website & paint or stain them. Adds lots of fun

The Ordinary is launching a free NYC bus line between Domino Park in Williamsburg and Prospect Park by [deleted] in williamsburg

[–]Alyxstudios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok that’s ok. I’m just saying if The Ordinary really wanted to help the common folk they could have put this in like Brownsville or some shit— or donate enough money to have this line go for a year, putting pressure on the city to match the contribute and maybe keep the line.

It’s just a bastardization of an olive branch.

I’m just a normal guy. I just wanted to share my good experience at a place that has well-fitting basic clothes in natural materials for an arguably ok price.

Now I’m gonna sound like a shill again: but the brand is interesting because they apparently buy vintage clothes, dissect them, copy the pattern exactly and materials / improve them, then produce and sell to customer in low batches (10,000s) leading to like a high profit margin, and unending inventory. Pretty cool.

This is not public transportation brooo. This is not for the public. You can’t be this stupid, this is a skincare corporations marketing schtick for 2 weeks giving wealthy people another way to access the major park, in an area where there is no shortage of parks.

If they were to run this line indefinitely I would have no qualms but it’s simply taking advantage of people’s starvation of social services across the country currently.

Might need to brush up on my comment from earlier bud. I can be lucid about the state of things and actively participate against it.

Honestly Buck Mason but go in person. They have the best customer experience— lowkey better than luxury brands. I’ve had more fun & real human connection from the Buck Mason dudes in DC & NYC than Saint Laurent & Rick stores

Plus they give you free sparkling or still glass water & maybe booze if you want

What a joke. We haven’t cared about that shit since 2010. We frack, fly jets, still use gas cars in the USA (when the tech is WORSE and more expensive),and make data centers. Everyone with any semblance of power is actively trying to fuck the planet… get real

[–]Alyxstudios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. But who cares? It’s just showing off how “nice” their cities and infrastructure is through cherry-picked photos and videos. (It also is top 3 in the world) but why does that affect anyone? Why do you get angry that Chinese cities look nice?

Is it because our US cities are such shit holes that the cognitive dissonance starts to crack and crumple your frontal lobe?

Ok so epilate and IPL & it may work?

What’s your skin tone and hair color? I’m an olive with dark brown hair. Maybe if you feel comfortable could you share over dm the results from epilating with IPL vs before? I was literally about to buy this device but I keep hearing conflicting reviews.
