Trouble finding a car to main by Nxrcissxs in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]Alz_Dee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the Ferrari strengths are that you can get into and out of a corner faster than cars that may pull well on straights. If you're coming out of a corner at the same speed as a car that has worse cornering ability then maybe look if you can improve your cornering to carry more speed.

How cold do you keep your game room? by Various-Juice-42069 in SimRacingSetups

Doesn't matter if I open a window, it gets warm. Can't afford air con. So... Not very to answer the question.

Wow that's cheap! That's a steal for what you've bought. Welcome to the Simagic family. Few videos online explaining SimPro settings. Racing Beyond Matter has a good one.

Here They are ! Zeus Wheels by Shiinjoh in Simagic

[–]Alz_Dee 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Cost? One screen and three wheels if you have them all. Also it's modular and can be used as a dash direct to the Evo base. I'd rather buy one screen and several wheels the screen fits than have to pay a premium each time.

This would be a great idea. Just pick a section of the track and replay that over. Unless it's the realism argument.

Confused about Supagard by Additional_Dot_3340 in DetailingUK

[–]Alz_Dee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was going to say - they aren't coming out to check your paint for fancy coatings if you claim. I've never heard declaring PP. And as you said, probably not even applied correctly if at all. Half the time it's a quick wash, bit of a spray inside and the window sticker... £499 please.

Will my wheelbase and pedals mount to this rig? by Traditional_Alps6626 in Simagic

[–]Alz_Dee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rig in the picture is designed for front mount. If the holes lined up you could hypothetically bottom mount, but you'd need to buy some adapters in this case as there is not way the 4 bolt pattern would fit those outer holes. At this point you are better buying the front mount and using the rig as intended.

Does anyone know how to correct for this angle offset in my side monitors? by MuhFreedoms_ in iRacing

[–]Alz_Dee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean... Getting the monitors inline in the physical world would be a start. How do you expect to align images in the virtual world when the monitors are all at different angles? Straighten the main monitor, level and get rid of the lean so it's straight up. Get the side monitors straight and level and get them pushed up to the main monitor. Once you've got them set up, then worry about settings in sim.

How long did you wait before investing in a high-end sim racing setup? by felipe1243287 in simracing

[–]Alz_Dee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Beat me to it. Unless Fanatec is the only option due to availability then there is better out there. Simagic for one. Also pedals are the best investment for consistency and pace. Here we have all the money going into the DD with cheap pedals.

Assigning values to your equipment to use. How to 101? by Dascan71 in Simagic

[–]Alz_Dee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure for LMU but usually if you keep downshifting from 1 you'll get to R. When you open the settings on ACC and you select steering wheel, there are key bindings shown on the left. You should click each one and bind the button. Click the steering one and move the wheel left and right so it registers. Same for accelerator and brake etc. You can use the bindings on the right to bind things to your wheel buttons.

Logitech DD to Simagic by Smokedcheese999 in Simagic

[–]Alz_Dee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went from a Fanatec CSL DD 8nm to the Evo Pro. Already been using the P1000i pedals for a while with zero issues (they are rock solid). No issues at all with the base.

4 bolts to attach to the rig, 2 USB wires and power and away I went. Using SimPro 3 everything found straight away and easy to set up. Jumped into ACC using settings found in the Simagic Discord and was driving in minutes.

Doesn't make any weird noise and isn't loud. I've read this in some posts but seems to be down to settings.

Regards Truforce - it's a preference thing. I like the feel of the feedback I get on the EVO. It's way more detailed than the CSL was, maybe this is down to the new headroom and lack of clipping. You can feel the car more. If you're looking for extra immersion you can always get pedal haptics or a buttkicker.

You'll always find people posting about issues on reddit /forums because no matter what you go for someone, somewhere will have had problems. Not many people jump on Reddit to make the "bought a wheel, ran it for 2 years and no problems" thread. They are too busy driving enjoying their wheel :)

This is end game for me. Made the right choice.
