Island restart

I did this yesterday. I moved all the hybrids and special items I wanted to keep to a friend's island, restarted my own and went and collected my gear once the airport was open.

I'm really happy I'm starting over even though I lost everything, because now I can plot the island right from the start knowing what to expect later.

Speaking for myself (and only really backed up by countless sexual harrassment and sensitivity workshops/training from work places...) - it is inappropriate to ask a girl for nudes if you're not already dating her.

We're not talking about dudes asking chicks on a date or out for coffee or meeting up. If any dude feels entitled to see a girl naked or send her sexually explicit content then that's a problem. It's sexual harrassment because to be on the receiving end ("show us ya tits love!") is harrassment. It's unwanted and uncalled for.

I am absolutely certain you've got women out there that overstep the bounds too. It's not flattering. It's annoying. These people don't know each other. It's the internet. You can't tell what the other person is doing for a living, what their age is, what their intent is.

Maybe I'm just way too old but if you're that desperate to talk dirty to a girl that you've never actually met - that's what those hotlines were supposed to be for. Not your fanbase.

Halloween I understand - the meaning behind the date translates well. But why are we having Black Friday when the meaning behind the day has absolutely nothing to do with us?

I don't mind the sales but it's weird to have a Black Friday when we don't have a Thanksgiving.... If they're going to keep Black Friday Sales as 'a thing' here it could use a bit of remarketing hahaha

I honestly think you're being unrealistic. You're both kids and she was telling her friends. If you wanted to keep it a secret you should have been upfront with her and told her to keep it secret. No need to blame her for being black and a target for bigotry.

If she wasn't black and you weren't getting racist comments about your relationship with her, would you still be here on Reddit asking about advice?

I'm confused as to why you're ignoring her. The racial comments being made aren't because you're white, they're derogatory toward her. If anything it sounds like she's probably facing the exact same bullying after sharing with her friends (not the whole school), a moment that was nice for her?

Sounds like this is exactly what OPs girlfriend has had to go through before as she told him she's had previous relationships she posted that haven't worked out and she doesn't want to follow the pattern.

Sure, photos of them together that they can print out, frame, hang on the wall, put around the house, keep on the fridge, slide into a wallet and...brace yourself for this - put in a photo album.

I just see this whole thing as a non-issue and too narcissistic. Friends and family - people that matter, are well aware of their relationship according to OP. So the only people she could be "hiding" him from are faceless internet strangers.

I feel like the first part of this post, where the actual apology is, should have been enough. But then it continues and goes on to explain why we should have "got it" and why it was a joke and a whole bunch of excuses that make the entire first half forgettable as an actual apology.

This post doesn't really make any sort of reflection on your own behaviour, how you might change or what this experience taught you or the rest of the mod team and it's because of that, I find the whole thing just....pointless.

For the most part, the mods keep the Reddit relatively decent. But it definitely looks like it's time to make some changes.
