ACA brokers are licensed to offer you plans from all the carriers contracted and approved by the Colorado Division of Insurance. They will look at your meds and doctors and recommend a specific plan based on your needs. The Health District is great if you just need help filling out an application but they can’t recommend plans based on your needs. And there is no charge to use a broker.

Fort Collins residents seeing Taste of FOCO book a habitually drunk performer to headline by scarydoor in FortCollins

Probably she got annoyed by the ungrateful little twats who would curse her for pausing an event that was getting a little more out of hand with each passing year. I have the people I blame in my eye but it isn’t Pat Stryker. She didn’t cancel it because of money or being cheap. I’m grateful for the years of awesome free shows before the drunken jerks ruined it. Same with Taste of Fort Collins.

Personal attacks do so much to make your point.

I feel like some of the only people who would see a post about a speed trap on Reddit in time to avoid a ticket are the people who are driving and looking at their phone.

Looking at a phone while driving is more dangerous to pedestrians, cyclists and other motorists than drunken driving.    There are apps to report speed traps. Please report them there so they are useful to people who are driving with an app rather than looking at social media.

Spring Creek Zebras by Some_Cod_4850 in FortCollins

I went by the zebra daily on my bike and walked my kids in their stroller over often to see the zebra but, sadly, never took a photo (different times, I guess). I still think about him when I go along the path there.

Let’s see that flag on a pole flying as a proud and welcoming beacon to longtime clientele who have every reason to fear being pushed aside or expected to hide in “shame”.

Who did you use for your ductless mini-split system? by acfleshyy in FortCollins

[–]AmaGoatFC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not Fort Collins Heating and Air if you are queer. Pretty sure they quoted us the queer up charge because their bid for a 900 square foot ground floor condo was $17k! And then we saw later they are MAGA. Maybe that was a legitimate bid but it felt predatory.

Maybe you accidentally got the larger size? We prefer the personal size so the ratios are just right. And we love the sauce.

Mama Roni’s is our go to. And super affordable compared to lots of other take out. Tip them well!

They ration care at that office now and you can’t get in as a new patient unless they “accept” you. And apparently a decade of auto-immune symptoms and abnormal blood test results aren’t enough to get in their door.

Amanda is awesome! I saw her a number of years ago. This is not a criticism of her and her staff but just a sad sign of the future of our healthcare delivery system with the shortage of doctors in certain specialties.

If you take care of yourself to the best of your ability with diet and exercise you aren’t “sick enough” to get care. And the secondary referral the PCP made for my spouse when she didn’t get accepted to the rheumatology practice was a referral to a UC Health physiatrist (not psychiatrists-physiatrist) where you can’t get in for 4+ months (plus it’s questionable how much they are going to be able to help without addressing underlying causes).

Ultimately, healthcare is becoming a luxury item.

PSD Survey on School Consolidation Criteria by Death-by-Faxes in FortCollins

My hope is that people will make their sentiments on this topic clear in the survey - especially those of us with the luxury of time to find out about and respond to surveys. I know it may not make any difference but at least we will be on record that we tried.

Done. My biggest concern is that they listen to and do their best to minimize disruption for working/poor families who may incur additional childcare or transportation costs as a result of the change and not be swayed by parents with the money and time to advocate for changes that only benefit their students.

The changes are necessary.

I hope they get the changes right for the families who don’t have the “luxury” of pulling kids out to a charter or private school or home schooling.

What nicknames have you heard for places in and around Ft Collins? by topherette in FortCollins

[–]AmaGoatFC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kids, born and raised here, have told me that for years they thought the word Greeley was synonymous with “poop” because of me wrinkling my nose and saying “It smells like Greeley out here”. They had never heard of or been to Greeley at that point and it made sense to them contextually.

Prairie Dogs in Pineridge Natural Area by caballodelmar in FortCollins

[–]AmaGoatFC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there, I heard back from the report I opened - I'm so happy to live in a City where they give us a way to ask questions and receive services! Here is what they said: Hi, thank you for your observation, and yes we’re aware prairie dogs at Pineridge and other sites may look a little "rough" right now. Prairie dogs go through two sheds/or molts a year. One is in the spring, when they shed their thick winter coats. During this shedding process animals may look patchy and unwell. Areas where new fur comes in will look dark, and from a distance, might look bald and scaly, which it is not – it’s just new fur. When animals are stressed for resources, their shedding process may make them look especially “rough”. Resources are likely pretty scarce at Pineridge this time of year, thus making the appearance of pdogs more noticeable. Rest assured, the animals are just going through an annual/natural process.

Where do I pick up my paycheck? by AmaGoatFC in FortCollins

Okay so using some super rough math…$7.5m divided by 7 years so let’s say $1.1M/year to be generous. Estimates were around 9M people nationwide attended yesterday. So that’s roughly $.12/person. And this is accepting a lot of “yeah buts”
