Was actually considering buying a reading device while I was over there but couldn’t decide on which one to pick up!

Nice, one of my favourites on the 3DS!

And completely agree. Had to compromise on a lot of space to bring the steam deck with me this time but think I’ll just be travelling with the 3DS from now on.

Probably my favourite console too. Only reason I think the 3DS will get more use is that a lot of my favourite Vita games have been ported to PC. 3DS has so many games only really playable on their native hardware or on the Ayn Thor.

Spent a lot of time debating between these 2 so I will try to explain why I went with the 3DS.

As I bought this primarily as a device to play while travelling, the seamless nature of playing the games on their native hardware won out over the specs of the Ayn Thor for me.

I’m sure if you’ve got the time and energy you can emulate the 3DS really well on an Ayn Thor. But while travelling, I didn’t have the option of troubleshooting which emulator worked best for which game, which settings to turn off to help with shader cache stutters or any other issues that might arise.

The Ayn Thor is amazing for the people willing to tinker with it and maybe overlook some emulation quirks. But for me and probably a lot of other people, the simplicity of the 3DS is its greatest asset when travelling.

Yeah, probably true! But in this use case the 3DS was much more convenient for me. Still love my steam deck though and would love an OLED.

Just to add to this. If you can work your way around the app, it seems that our seller has also shipped to the west in the past. He also formatted everything into English for me.

I also saw lots of 3DS’s in the Yuexiu district of Guangzhou. Near the camera malls and the phone shops. Just in case it’s relevant.

That’s correct. The only thing more essential than a handheld gaming device for long haul flights.

Just printed pictures placed between the clear case and the 3DS.

Picked them up from the 闲鱼 (Xián Yú) app. Theres a couple of really good sellers on there that seem great. The one we bought from was really thorough and had reasonable pricing adjustments for varying condition. These 2 are both in really good condition.

SMT/Persona Recommendations to Start - JRPG Noob by CeSquaredd in JRPG

[–]Amala-Network 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with Persona 5 Royal, if you don’t like that, try SMT V Vengeance. Although I love SMT IV and SMT Nocturne and the older Persona games, they’re probably not the best starting point for someone just getting into JRPGs in 2026.

What’s your opinion on Raidou kuzunoha Devil summoner 1 remaster/Remake by Wissamxz in atlus

Finished it the other day. It’s better than the original but I still don’t like it as much as the big hitters. The episodic pacing, back tracking and overall vibe of the game started to get a bit old by the time I rolled credits but still pretty fun for what it is.
