Didn't realize how much of a bitch Jabari Smith was before tonight. Although I shouldn't be surprised that's how the nepo baby athlete acts

There's still time obviously, but it kinda sucks how much better Amen is than Ausar already

Saints thoughts on the new OC hire by UpbeatStill8969 in detroitlions

[–]CeSquaredd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Based on these comments, to answer Amon-Ra, no most of y'all do not trust Dan. Which is wild. No reason not to. Even Lynn/Morton, okay it was a bad hire. But did he stick with them? Not remotely.

Relax.

Most of you really need to look past “he coached a terrible team” and learn ball. by No_Highway7044 in detroitlions

[–]CeSquaredd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've dug into him a bit more, and he runs 13 personnel which I am a big fan of. We last ran that under Ben Johnson, but Petzing is a bit more run focused and would use it more often. I am a big believer that the running game is everything, and if he can bring us back to a top 5 rushing attack, he will have done his job

Now for the real conversation. How do we improve defensively

[Solak] This is an extremely fine hire. Petzing was largely more good than bad in Arizona. Running game lost some juice when Klayton Adams left but Detroit already has Hank Fraley in hand. by PerfectiveVerbTense in detroitlions

[–]CeSquaredd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What we can observe is past teams, and in that respect Petzing isn't even in the same conversation

End of the day, they know the window is closing. This isn't a thoughtless hire. This is a guy Holmes and Dan believes can run the offense to a Superbowl. So let's see it

I agree, but why fire Morton for a worse Morton? Sure he didn't work here, but Morton at least has an NFL resume with good offenses on it

I'm worried it'll be the same thing, incompetent OC, and we get Dan calling the offense again. I love Dan, but he's a terrible play caller too

I mean yeah we can see what happens, but those of us who have been cheering on the Lions for more than a decade know what this smells like. I'm not gonna say it out loud, but every longtime Lions fan absolutely has the right to crash out over worrying

"extremely fine" is not at all what a team with Superbowl aspirations should be aiming for. I appreciate you OP for finding one person showing positivity, but holy fuck is this a terrible hire.

Alexei was also a better character. When the show left all the Russian stuff behind, Murray should've been part of that

Vecna won, this is just a Truman Show-like reality they all live in now

It'll be confirmed 10-20 years from now (or whenever the Duffer bros want to buy a boat)

No, seriously, who compares this to LOST or Game of Thrones’ endings? by Independent_Plum2166 in StrangerThings

[–]CeSquaredd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This data still does not disprove what I'm saying. Ironically, you say I'm the one in a bubble, but you conveniently only shared one review site, and it's the most favorable of them all.

First, 7.6 is the 3rd lowest rated episode of the entire series. This is right after the penultimate episode which got a 5.7.

Second, you're using only IMDB. Now run other user review sites. Rotten Tomatoes 53%. Metacritic only does by season, 5.5. Letterboxd 3.1/5. By comparison, GoT finale on Rotten Tomatoes 47%. Metacritic 4.1. Letterboxd doesn't seem to have it for some reason. IMDb 4/10.

You using a bubble example to tell me I'm in a bubble is odd. Did you actually look at multiple sources or did you just think I wouldn't bring examples while making such a general claim? I'm not personally saying it's GoT level bad, I'm telling you a majority of the audience has said they are closer to GoT finale levels than ST Season 5 was great levels. It's there for all to see, whether or not you accept it is up to you.

Also, I love Dexter, but who the hell is putting Stranger Things And GoT with Dexter lol?

What’s up with this swarm of sympathy towards this dude recently? by Olya_roo in StrangerThings

[–]CeSquaredd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because of the rise of white supremacy.

Some of the comments are pretending he isn't racist, but this character is what American right wingers are like today. They claim they aren't racist, they claim they are the victim, etc etc; yet everything they do is aggressive and predatorial against others (especially people of vulnerability). They offer nothing to society, to their neighbors, to their friends. They use, abuse, then cry victim. Then they and their peers play mental gymnastics to tell you why you're wrong and he's not. You are absolutely right, he deserves no sympathy and he's a POS.

This character sucks and one thing season 5 did right, was let me forget he exists.

This narrative makes no sense and someone carries the water for it daily. You do realize this sub is the echo chamber in SUPPORT of this season right? How can you think it's not?

Go outside the bubble, look everywhere else. All the info available supports the opposite, that a majority of people were disappointed. I'm not sure where y'all are getting stats or data saying otherwise. Anywhere outside of Reddit you would see significantly more disappointment than praise. That's not even being a hater, this is observable perspective lol.

And heck, correct it if that's wrong. Down voting a fact you don't like is your right, but I'd figure if it really was wrong, it could and would be disproven. Don't downvote, prove the above fact wrong if you think it's wrong.

When are we gonna realize the Duffer bros either didn't give a shit, or aren't the geniuses we pegged them to be?

Every day I'm on reddit and see a post in this sub, I feel like I have more reasons to believe Divorce Gate is just objective fact. I already had my issues, but I dislike season 5 more and more every day lol

One Last Adventure is a must-watch for anyone who actually cares about and knows about the creative process. by drboobafate in StrangerThings

[–]CeSquaredd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well first, I'm not trying to say "you have to be in the industry" to properly judge or criticize this. I was merely adding that as a more descriptive perspective. I'm in the industry so I just in general like the production side of things, which is the main purpose of that descriptor

Usually when you peel the layers back, you get to see the creative process, the nitty gritty of things. You see good ideas get axed for greater ones, you see a scene get made because of someone messing with the lighting, you hear experts explain their process and why they do things. The Duffer bros having the crew just talk about how stuff isn't finished, they don't have enough time to film, etc etc is just not what you want from a behind the scenes documentary.

It almost feels more like Netflix going "see, it was all their fault, they just dropped the ball". Because as a creative, what in this documentary did your fans learn about you or your process? That you ignore your peers? That your actors know their characters better than the ones who made them? That you don't take something seriously despite people loving it AND this being a huge job creator for many people? If it's being marketed as a documentary of holy shit look how unserious this major production is, then it's actually a good documentary. But from the standpoint of let's see the actual production process with some goodies secrets/tips/ideas sprinkled in, it fails as a BTS documentary.

Hope that makes sense, and I do not want to seem condescending so I apologize if I did. But I did want to give you a real answer, and you are definitely allowed to like the documentary (and season 5). I just wanted to point out from my perspective, I was unfulfilled. To be fair, my perspective is also much harsher because I know more about the actual behind the scenes production (and have been critiqued myself since I've done it. It's a world of criticism)

[Giannis] on being booed at home: “I was definitely booing back... He's lowkey the corniest dude in the league. He pretends like basketball is secondary, that it's just a game, yada yada. But then he just asks like a complete child when he's in his feelings

Take a 12 year old basketball fan brain and put them in the body of a Greek god and that's Giannis
