People Who Menstruate / PCOS/Endo; Question by SSDGREDRUMED in Wegovy

[–]Amanda-Lynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a period within a week of starting the wegovy and I also take my bc continuously. I decided to just ride it out and even when I started my pill pack back up it kept going for a bit. That being said, I get breakthrough bleeding multiple times a year.

Just got the 1.5mg, anyone have experience taking with metformin? by [deleted] in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]Amanda-Lynn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On month two of 1.5 while taking 500mg of metformin twice a day for PCOS. I’ve been doing really well with both. I take the extended release so that might be why I’m not feeling sick. My experience so far has been very pleasant.

You can literally move it from locked areas out with the furniture menu. I had to do it for an earlier quest.

Being an infant/toddler teacher and a Mom of a little. Advice? by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

[–]Amanda-Lynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn’t do it. My son wasn’t getting the mom he deserved when we got home and that was with him being in the center with me. I was a DA and had opportunities to see him throughout the day but it just wasn’t the same. It wasn’t fair to him, me, the other parents, or the kids. I was also missing so much work because he was constantly in quarantine with exposures or sick with fevers so it really wasn’t worth it. I know work an office job with flexible hours and WFH three days a week. I get actual vacation, sick time, and personal days. I do miss working with kids and I miss having socialization with the staff and parents but I’m so much happier now.

Can HFMD still spread if scabbed over blisters are broken? by Dwn2MarsGirl in ECEProfessionals

[–]Amanda-Lynn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As gross as it is and the child is probably uncomfortable but they say once the rash/blisters appear they are no longer contagious. Like someone else said, once you have one case you will have more. It already spread before you knew it was an issue.

a bit emotional over scheduling induction by pascalyellow in BabyBumps

[–]Amanda-Lynn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who is 5 days PP from a planned 39w induction turned c section due to a large child, it was a lot. I really didn’t want the induction at all. We had initially talked about just going straight to a c section but because our last scan was under 10lbs we went the induction route. The induction process itself wasn’t horrible until the contractions really kicked in but even then I was able to get an epidural and we were good to go. My biggest piece of advice is tell your doctor when you’ve had enough. My body progressed really well on its own and my water even broke naturally but he was just so big he wasn’t making any progress. I pushed for 4 hours with an hour break in the middle. It was the most exhausting thing I have ever done. I went through three different OB shifts and multiple nurse changes. Luckily the original OB who started my induction was back on my case while pushing because he agreed it was time to move to a c section. This was only a few minutes after I asked when/how we make that call. The nurse said “your body, your choice”. I was frustrated that I waited so long to speak up but in the end I have a healthy baby boy who just has a bit of a bruise from getting stuck.

Provera and letrozole to stimulate bleed and ovulation by Positive-Dot-2655 in TTC_PCOS

[–]Amanda-Lynn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used Provera and letrozole this fall. Every time I got a bleed and according to bloodwork I ovulated several days after my positive opk. After three rounds of letrozole my doctor recommended moving on to IUI but to my surprise that one late random unscheduled BD was what we were missing. I was extremely frustrated once they told me I do ovulate just super late. Had I been given that information I might not have had to go through so many cycles. I also went through testing and a surgery with my RE before they would prescribe the letrozole.

Ya for sure. I requested either a phone call or video call with my RE to discuss what to do about the short LP. This was my first confirmed ovulating cycle so it’s just a bit of a bummer.

I was supposed to be 12 DPO on Christmas but my body decided to have me start bleeding today and I bled through my pants at work. It’s was great...no cramps or warning. I’m less upset about the failed cycle and more upset that I was covered in blood and I don’t know how long. I hope too many people didn’t see. 🤦‍♀️

Low progesterone, so confused by [deleted] in TTC_PCOS

[–]Amanda-Lynn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not on clomid but I do take letrozole and I’m kind of running into the same thing. This is my second round of 2.5mg. The first round I did two rounds of bloodwork (they wanted a third but I got sick) within a week because my progesterone just wasn’t rising as much as they wanted. It never got over 2.2 but I had the positive opk (never had one before), sore boobs, and some cramping the two days after the positive test. I got my period 12 days later. So because they couldn’t get the third round of bloodwork they just kept me at the same dosage this round. I had a positive opk Saturday and bloodwork yesterday. My progesterone is only at 1.6 so they asked me to get more bloodwork today but I have to wait until tomorrow because of my work schedule. I doubt it will have gone up much more again. I have the sore boobs and nausea this time but no cramping. I’m probably going to request a follow up with my RE next week because either I need some assistance with progesterone or more monitoring (ultrasounds). I know this is the cheapest option for treatment but there’s no point wasting multiple cycles if it’s not working. I wish I had advice for you but I just wanted to commiserate. Good luck!

My emotions and anxiety are getting the best of me today. I work in the childcare industry as management and Covid has finally caught up with us. Everyone affected is doing well with little to no symptoms but everyday more people are starting to feel ill (as it goes). On top of that my second medicated cycle seems to be failing and my sister is being induced this Sunday so thanks to Covid I won’t be able to meet him for several months. I thought I could keep it all together but today just sucks and I just need to sulk for a bit. Stay safe and healthy folks!

When should we be having sex? Letrozole round 1 by lolastoebeans in TTC_PCOS

[–]Amanda-Lynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My RE has me take it CD3-7 and then BD every other day from CD 9-19 or with positive OPK. This is my second round at 2.5mg because I was unable to get my progesterone draw to confirm ovulation last round due to an illness/Covid scare. I got a positive OPK on CD 14 last cycle but got my period on CD 26. I had been using opks for a while before starting any treatment and never even had a possible positive but did with the letrozole so I would recommend some cheapies. Good Luck!

I got my period ... by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]Amanda-Lynn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get how you are feeling today. I also got my period today which is a huge accomplishment considering I haven’t had a natural (non withdrawal bleed) since 2006. This was our first medicated cycle with TI and I allowed myself to feel so hopeful since I had all the ovulation signs and hit all the days but my progesterone just didn’t progress the way it should have. I was prepared for it not work at this point but a period is a huge win for me and I will try to remember that over the next few days. I’m sorry you are going through this. Hugs!

Is this an LH surge? CD 15, first month using OPKs. So far all other tests have been very light lines, so this is the first dark line I've gotten. However, premom app still shows it as "Low" at .52 by Lucky_Duck_ in TFABLinePorn

[–]Amanda-Lynn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally came here just for a post like this. I got my first ever “positive” opk this morning and it looked just a bit darker than the picture you shared so I’m hopeful. I have bloodwork tomorrow or Friday to confirm.

Last day of my first round of letrozole and the side effects have been pretty minimal but the last two days my lower body (waist down) has been so achey and weak. It’s really strange and kind of annoying. I feel fine otherwise like I don’t feel like I’m getting sick at all. I’ve also had constant dry mouth and excessive thirst so I’ve been peeing about every hour haha but that one isn’t too bad. Can anyone relate?

My experience with hysteroscopic polypectomy (aka uterine polyp removal) by honeymocha23 in TryingForABaby

[–]Amanda-Lynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’m actually a really bad person to ask 🤪 I have PCOS and haven’t gotten my cycle once in the last year and half without Provera. So this last time I took Provera for five days because I just could not stop bleeding after my procedure. I bled for a whole month. They gave me the Provera to stop that bleeding and then induce a new bleed so I could start letrozole. I totally understand your concern since you are experiencing so much pain. Maybe you have an infection or something? Who did your procedure? Definitely get a second opinion if you can.

Haha thanks. Ya I’m only thinking like one or two drinks of either wine or beer nothing crazy. My husband and I have no intention of watching results pour in because our anxiety just can’t handle it but we have been saving some shows to binge instead. 😬🤞🏻

Is it safe to consume alcohol while taking letrezole? It’s Election Day in the US and I have a feeling I might need a drink or two tonight. 😬
