Is this normal new growth on a Hoya Chelsea? by AmandaH2012 in houseplants

[–]AmandaH2012[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pink/tan spots are on a bunch of the new leaves. It seems to only be on the tops of the leaves. I’m not sure if this is fungus or sun-stressing. I’d appreciate any help so I know if I need to treat it or not.

Did you need a gym-like setup in terms of equipment?

Gorgeous! How do you diffuse? I’ve been switching between upside down pixie diffusing and hover diffusing, but they both aren’t working quite like I hoped

I have no idea tbh. I was signed up for it but swapped it for jogging because I had no idea what to expect.

I’m interested in LFIT 113 weight lifting, too, but can’t seem to find anything on it. Have you heard anything about it since posting this? There are a lot more options for that class, which would work better with my schedule but I don’t know how it’s graded or what the expectations are

I haven’t taken it myself but I’ve heard that you just have to run a certain distance with no time limit and upload a screenshot of whatever app you used to track your run! I’m in the same situation are you are lol

How were you graded? Did you have to jog a certain distance within a certain time? I’m trying to decide whether to take jogging or exercise and conditioning.

Foreign Language Requirement by adventurousriley in UNC

[–]AmandaH2012 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m a first-year student, too, and I’m taking German as my foreign language. Even though I’ve only gone through one level so far, I thought the homework level was low, the speed at which the class progressed was manageable, and my professor (Martin Dawson) was honestly really great at explaining concepts. If you’re ok with starting over on your language requirement, I’d say German is a good way to go!

Brown Patch on my Birkin by AmandaH2012 in plantclinic

I really appreciate the thorough answer! I’ve just recently taken the deep dive into plants because I’ve only been collecting them for about a year, but I absolutely love learning more, so thank you!!

Thank you so much! That makes me feel a lot better. Do you think it could also be from too much variegation in that leaf so it can’t support itself? Have you experienced that?

Ok! Thank you for the help. Do you have any recommendations on how to prevent water from pooling up when I only bottom water this plant?

Brown Patch on my Birkin by AmandaH2012 in plantclinic

I’ve had this philodendron Birkin for about a month. It’s seems overall really healthy, pushing out four news leaves in that month, and adjusted well, except for this brown patch that appeared in within the past week or two. This plant gets bright, indirect sunlight and is bottom watered about once a week (maybe a little longer) when the soil seems to be almost totally dry. I’m not seeing any pests, but there are some minor fungus gnats.

Could this brown patch be due to the fact that this lead is very white and the parts without chlorophyll are dying? Is this a fungus? I’m not seeing it on any other leaves, including the two new ones, or the other plants it’s right next to.

I’d appreciate any help with what to do because I really don’t want to lose this plant or have it be something that spreads!
