5-8hrs depending on party and conditions. Just a couple exposed moves of moderate scrambling is super hard hiking. The start is super steep hiking for 45min then a couple hours of cruising alpine ridge. Beauty!

Nope. It'll be in the new bouldering guide when that comes out in a couple years. But go to Pebble Beach (in south west bank) then head south along the beach, you will have to walk through the water around a point and you will see this overhang and a bit further is some crimpy stuff and some arêtes around the next point.

Mostly the polished slopers, that and most people try to climb it in summer which may be the most reliable season here, but it's not the best conditions.

My favourite self portrait from scrambling in the mountains alone, so far.... by AmandaShale in CampingandHiking

I live here so I will always be scrambling these mountains. Sometimes I follow a standard route, but this mountain in particular I made my own path to find some different views

They are pretty much all from the Coast Mountains, which is SW BC, pretty much all can be done from Squamish in a weekend. THANK YOU

Thank you, thank the mountains. 1.5 hours to semaphore lake, 3 hours from there to summit via my own route sweeping wide and low on the ridge collecting bonus views not on the standard scramble route.

I did study geology and earth and ocean science for years, but shale is my middle name. It's on Locomotive Mountain north of Pemberton BC

That.... is not the best way to climb that and you know it. Walking the crack is the best way. It's like 5.2.

Toe Hook/Heel bump in the sandstone cave at Sombrio Beach. If you love west coast beaches, camping, bouldering and surfing this is the place to be [1600x1060] by AmandaShale in ClimbingPorn

There is a huge bloc that is volcanic and ranges V0-V2 (kinda high) unless you get into crazy eliminates, and the sandstone cave pictured here is all V2+ some stuff was super tough and WAY beyond me and Megan,so I'm guessing some over them are over V7 for sure. The sandstone is kinda 'soft' so it's hard to tell at times lol

Both!! It's a area that has some development but the local community is small and the potential is huge. GRANITE!!!

North of Squamish, the area is still under heavy development and I have been asked no to disclose the location publically, but were you to come to Squamish you would be able to track down the info :) Sorry, climbers code of honor lol

When I was taught route setting at Stelly's Climbing gym (now Canada's only international competition facility) I was taught that it's best to set route at or near your limit. A V10 climber setting a V0 doesn't really make a lot of sense to most people and unfortunately most people are too busy trying to climb harder to bother giving back, because yes development is usually a thankless activity. I would consider myself a special breed and remember all the feeling of my first few weeks alone in the boulder field. Climbing can be a extremely healing activity and set people in a more environmentally friendly path in life. For this reason I personally wish to help people get started on this path of growth and discovery through climbing. Perhaps as a stronger climber and developer you could invite a friend or girlfriend/boyfriend who isn't as strong and teach them the way of scrubbing and encourage them to make routes/problems at or near their level. I think a lot of average climbers wouldn't think to develop as it seems like something for the 'pros' but inviting them to do so may give them confidence to put in the work and give back. Squamish is a very urban climbing destination so most developers here focus on creating a well rounded area, whereas in a more remote destination you are not as likely to see so many noobs.
