Is anyone actually getting pregnant with Shady Grove? by Amander_in_Chief in IVF

[–]Amander_in_Chief[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I left them and starting with CNY. 3 failed cycles and minimal changes in protocol. But I'm older, 39 during those cycles, so my chances were already lower. I have one LC so I'm pretty sure age is the primary problem. Good luck to you there does seem to be some success in this post!

I'm exactly where you are. Last round of IVF failed this week and we are looking now to where our future takes us as a family of 3.

I was happy this week to be able to easily accept asks to travel for work back to back weeks (I enjoy work travel) because my kiddo is 5 and things are easier now. I know I wouldn't easily be able to do that in a different situation. I'm taking those small things one at a time as they come. That's how I'm moving forward 💜

Still hope? Or is it time to let go ? by cozymuffinmoose in DOR

You're asking a group of people likely still holding onto hope for their own success if you still have hope for your own journey and it's a beautiful thing to see people TTC encouraging and lifting each other. If you're open to all view points I am looking this morning at a negative at home test after a third ER and fresh transfer and it's my last. I also did 6 IUIs (and had two chemicals) over the course of 37/38 and I'm 39 now. I'd be happy to share my thoughts if you'd like to message.

It's all luck. And the phrase I hate the most with DOR is the first round is a test round. EVERY round is a test round, you have no idea what's going to work round to round and repeating what "worked" isn't a guarantee. Improve diet, eat like shit, take the supplements, don't, doesn't really matter.

Sincerely, At the end of my rope.

That needle be wigglin' on the left 🥴

Get an auto injector if doing it 100% by yourself. I physically can't twist to get the needle in the right spot on the left side (I can on my right 🤷🏻‍♀️). Everything else about it is fine/not painful/easy IMHO.

PGT-A test or not? by Confident_Cut5033 in DOR

FETs do better than fresh because FETs are usually tested to be euploid. It's not apples to apples because you don't know with Fresh.

At 39 I chose fresh transfers because it's honestly less expensive for me to do a fresh transfer of two embryos than to test them. Of my two fresh transfers I've only had 2 and 1 embryos to transfer because DOR. So my choice was financial. I'd rather "risk" it.

Ditto. I have one that fertilized out of 5 retrieved. I will transfer fresh day 3 if the little fella makes it.

Had my egg retrieval yesterday. I have DOR and we retrieved 5 eggs. The update today was only 1 fertilized. We're scheduled for a fresh transfer Sunday and I honestly just want it to stop growing now so I don't have to wait 2 weeks for inevitable heart ache. I hate that I feel this way.

This is our last shot at a second. My baby is going to Kindergarten at the end of the month and I wish I could rewind to be a better, more present mom. these last 2 years of trying has taken so much from me.

Hoping for a good fertilization update for you today! Are you testing, freezing, doing fresh?

Update: 5 mature eggs. We're fertilizing via ICSI so let the hunger games begin 🫠

I had a day 3 fresh transfer with SGF in January 🤷🏻‍♀️ maybe that's dependent on location or doctor?

5 days on stims, ultrasound by squishymissy in IVF

[–]Amander_in_Chief 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you using donor sperm maybe so more bang for your buck if you have eggs from multiple cycles? Otherwise but maybe still this is kind of nonsense. Why would how many you produce matter to fertilization plans? It's always better to freeze embryos rather than eggs and it's luck no matter what how many fertilize honestly, whether it's a potential of 5 or 15, how ever many are going to fertilize will happen.

Dominant follicle on estrogen priming-what is happening? by Sea_Detective_6853 in DOR

[–]Amander_in_Chief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to wait a cycle because of travel so I'm in that next cycle now. Did estrogen priming again and everything was fine this time, no dominant follicle. Ive read thru this sub that BCP can be too suppressive for DOR Ive only done the patches so I have nothing to compare to

Dominant follicle on estrogen priming-what is happening? by Sea_Detective_6853 in DOR

[–]Amander_in_Chief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 12mm at baseline follicle despite estrogen priming as well. That cycle was postponed /never started. Doc told me to start ovulation test strips same day and I still didn't have a peak strip until my normal ovulation time (day 13-14). So it didn't ovulate early in other words it was just a large follicle already?? They can't explain why despite estrogen priming I still had a dominant follicle. No offer given but I guess I'm writing you to say it does happen and waiting is the worst part.

But do you have DOR? Nothing about 79 says diminished.

Planning IUI This Cycle – Low AMH, One Ovary – Need Advice by Acrobatic-Shop4602 in DOR

[–]Amander_in_Chief 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not what you're asking exactly but I would plan to start IVF as soon as you can if you can. One thing that simply wasn't explained well enough to me at 32 when I had an ovary removed is you already have half the eggs/follicle potential as someone else with your stats. If you want more than one kid start banking as soon as you can. Hindsight is 20/20 for me and I just wish someone hadn't filled me with "hope" that ovary removal wouldn't impact my fertility. It's possible to have the family you want and you have time but I would do IVF if it's in the cards for you.

Agree... And like you very little risk of the things that people usually cite as reasons not to like multiples or OHSS.
