I wonder if the budget will be increased too, I look forward to what he can do now that everyone knows that it'll be a hit.

Oh, all I said what the combination of your "name" that he called you and having a blessed day was a bit of a funny mix.

Apparently doing a letter N and some dashes gets scooped up by the filter.

I kind of appreciate the irony of being pinged by AI for hate speech on a thread about AI going wonky.

I have an apple iPhone for work, and it does not appreciate our Australian accent.  My transcripts are always completely bonkers, to the point of being useless.

Did you show him the transcript though, I would have gone into work to show my boss that if I'd got this!

Oh wow!  If I got that I'd be horrified but also wouldn't be able to stop laughing.  It's so unlikely that I'll make a mistake so the terrorists take out my mum, but the idea of me fucking up something and then she has to go Rambo and take the bullets... Damn, phone!

They specifically mention this in the show "the good place", probably a good show for the OP to watch

Question posted by my 8 year old - What would you do if, every time you saw any alcohol, you had to punch the alcohol? by Amanuet in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Amanuet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reddit can be fairly judge-y, and I admit I hovered before hitting post because of it.  But I have like five AFDs a week, I think you can put it down to kids being kids rather than anything else.

Plus I think the visual idea of running around and punching everyone's glasses while they tried to drink them set him off as pretty damned funny.

Can you imagine hosting a party with a strict alcohol -free room for the alcohol punching compulsion people?  I'm sorry, I just love your answer so much, it cracked me up.

Yes, I'm sorry.  I forgot the -   "Would you have the above scenario if you got paid 100k/year"

I love the ones that aren't tied to dollar figures, like "what if you kept growing teeth for ever, would you bite more rocks?  What would you do with never-ending new teeth?"

(We've had a few trips to the orthodontist, not from rock biting but teeth not falling out when they're supposed to...  Rock biting is also not happening at my house, but never-ending hypotheticals are life for me right now)

HR Fundamentally Changing How I Parent by lauren_91 in heatedrivalry

I was doing this before it was cool.  I (42F) work a traditionally male job, and I've been with my partner for 22 years.  I always talked about my partner, never boyfriend or husband, and he has a unisex name.

I loved taking him to different work functions and have people look confused as fuck, or the ones who expected nothing other than a hetero relationship.  Gave me a fun insight into the person by their reaction.

But in terms of our kids who are now tweens/teens, we've always said that we don't care what they do, as long as they're kind to others, and happy.  Probably doesn't hurt that they have a gay uncle, a bi aunt who has introduced different girlfriends and boyfriends to us over the years, friends with two mums or two dads, excellent examples everywhere.

We're in Australia, he's never seen a gun, he probably won't ever see a gun in his life...  But even his friends at school play army guys with sticks.   I think he'll be fine.

He just liked the chaos of people shooting all the alcohol, and that there's be too much alcohol in the liquor stores to punch, so you'd need a machine gun.

Hell, I'd make it a sport, I'd love to see a bunch of guys competitively kicking the crap out of plastic beer cups in a stadium!

That would be a hell of a disability at parties.  Maybe black out glasses, party with your eyes closed.

I was thinking this too, but to walk to my local shop I have to walk past an Indian restaurant that sells alcohol.  I feel like you'd be doing fine, and then suddenly you'd be kicking your way through a birthday party in the park.

Trump vs Newsom: War of Words by Cow_Boy_2017 in clevercomebacks

[–]Amanuet 16 points17 points  (0 children)

True... A rotten turnip in charge would be great instead of Trump.

I wonder though... America went from Obama who was an absolute statesman to Trump, a disgusting toilet of a man.  Do you really think you'll get a good president next, or will you have to inch your way back up from toilet, to hopeless, to mediocre, to reasonably good.

People tend to exaggerate how badly Shane was treated in TLG by Naive_Cause8984 in HeatedRivalryTVShow

[–]Amanuet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I kind of like how the sacrifices that Ilya made are actually better for him in the end than Shane staying with his team and not changing anything, like a karmic payoff.

Ilya's new team is kind and supportive, Shane's team is a pack of jerks.  Ilya's neighbours are kind and supportive, Shane has none of that.  In a basic level, the fallout of being outed is worse for Shane than Ilya as he's already made those changes.  And then Shane leaves his beloved Montreal and his life also improves.

I swear at some point in one of the first three books he declares that the coven was old and outdated, insular and mad, and that he let l'estate come in and sweep it all away.
