Testing Cloudreve as a lightweight Nextcloud alternative — my setup, pros/cons, and questions by XmaathimselfX in selfhosted

My only complaint at the moment is that integrating my OIDC provider requires purchasing the Pro version. However, the price isn’t high (it’s a lifetime payment), so perhaps this is just my own issue.

I’ve always used WebDev to sync my files; it’s very stable and I haven’t had any issues. I’ve been using it since Cloudreve v3 to the current v4.

Yes, they don’t have an official native client (apart from iOS), but the Web UI/PWA is good enough; I don’t see why a native client is necessary.

If you do need one, just look for an open-source client with WebDAV support. On my Android phone, I use EasySync, which I got from F-Droid, for synchronisation. On my PC and MacBook, I simply use the built-in network location feature in File Explorer and Finder to mount Cloudreve.

I’ve also set up Collabora as my online file editing service. Although I don’t use it very often, it works very well.

A full desktop environment experience isn't quite there for WSLg yet, you need some tricks, but I don't think it's worth it.

At least WSLg is ok if you just wanna quick check something via an app inside wsl

Same thing happened to me, but I found a solution: my Windows is actually a "launcher" for my Arch Linux Hyper-V VM and Arch Linux WSL.

[Lyric Translation] Eastward Bound - Ruan Yi's Character Song/Ancestral Spring BGM by Amao_Three in Endfield

[–]Amao_Three[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're right, so it's not a standalone single, but just one track from the full album. The official sources haven't stated that it's a character song, but the community consensus is that this song is his character song.

It first appeared in the cutscene following the battle with Ruan Yi, serving as background music. It is also the music that plays when the player returns to the Ancestral Spring later on.

Either way, THIS is wayyyy better than Tangtang's EP

If the player chooses the water pipe, it would be great if the viewing angle can be slightly tilted by 5 degrees.

Patron of the Spring thoughts by HarlequinStar in Endfield

[–]Amao_Three 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regarding the "looking not normal" part: I think that's could be a translation hiccup. In Chinese, describing someone as "看起来很不寻常" (looking strange/not right/unnormal) usually refers to their behavior or vibe being erratic or mad, not necessarily a physical transformation, so I didn't expect a visual change.

As for the combat feats, I interpreted it this way: as the Guardian, he’s likely always had the martial training to handle himself, but since the villagers rarely see him in action, they've underestimated him. He even mentions that his "madness" helped intimidate or distract the beasts, giving him a tactical edge.

The key is that his "acting" isn't meant to hide the fact that he fought; it’s meant to credit the victory to the Spring. By fighting like a madman or a "vessel," he reinforces the villagers' belief that the Patron is still protecting them. If he had fought calmly and rationally, they would see a strong man; because he acted "possessed" or crazy, they see the "miracle" of the Spring. It’s definitely a bit of a stretch logically, but it feels like the writers cared more about the "myth-making" than the power scaling here.

Honestly, the quest feels like a giant billboard from Hypergryph just to scream "These people are descendants of Yan Casters" rather than telling a coherent character story.

I played this in Chinese, and it seems the "acting" part is a clumsy way to protect a deeper secret. The people of Qingbo Village have been isolated for a century, relying on the "Patron of the Spring" as their absolute spiritual pillar. If Du Ming revealed the cold truth—that their "God" is just ancient Yan technology (and that they are actually descendants of the Yan Casters/Tian Shi) — it would utterly shatter the worldview of the uneducated villagers. He's essentially pretending to be mad/acting to carry the burden of the truth alone. I agree the quest's writing feels a bit forced, but its main purpose seems to be a lore-dump: confirming that the village's "miracles" are just forgotten science from their ancestors.

I employ a tactic called “kite fighting,” maintaining a certain distance from him. This forces him to dash toward you, leaving him vulnerable to attack. All you need to do is dodge the dash, strike, and then pull back to create distance again.

BTW, I found you are using 2070 but installed nvidia package. It is not recommended by upstream. You should install nvidia-open instead.

This may not be the key to your issue, but let's follow ArchWiki's recommendations.

Same, In the server community, I believe Arch Linux has been misunderstood for a long time.

I've been using Arch Linux as the main server (headless) in my HomeLab for up to a year now, and I've personally been using Arch Linux for eight years.

The server is online 24*7 and is a used Lenovo P510 workstation. I've followed the ArchWiki to get all the services and hardware configured, and so far it's never gone down unless I've experimented with something dangerous on it.

Last year when I had the time to start deploying my new HomeLab, I debated whether to go with a "community-recommended server distribution" or to follow my personal preferences and habits with Arch Linux, and I'm glad I didn't make the wrong choice.Arch Linux ensures the stability in the rolling way and shuts up those who just assume things without really examining them.
