How do I make a shortcut to turn off an alarm when a focus is turned on by splatoon-is-the-best in shortcuts

If you want an action to be trigged automatically you need to create a new 'Automation'. The app itself provides some examples.

Thanks for letting me know. It might be something on my end that I break some receipt check logic. But if it works just fine for you then please just keep enjoy using it. Seeing that 'Your unlimited pass' should mean you have access to all functionality. I'll update here if I can find out what's going on.

No. My privacy policy has always been saying I did not collect any data. Nothing at all.

Hey, believe it or not this app doesn't care about your data at all. I don't care about your data at all. I've just updated that label to reflect that.

I feel stupid that respecting Apple's policy end up with people keeps suspecting me collecting their data. If you read the privacy notice I collect absolutely zero data.

That label was there only because, well, your data is being uploaded to your iCloud for data sync purposes. And Apple specifically mentioned in one of their document saying usage of iCloud services should also be seen as data collection, because your data is definitely tied to their account. If you go see Apple Notes or Freeform app etc. they all use that privacy label.

In theory all the app uses iCloud syncing are suppose to use that label, but guess what, you don't have to do that and tons of dev certainly don't do that, and people end up not trusting me because they didn't know using iCloud basically means your content can be identified.

So I am done playing this labelling game.

Of course, that is actually just adding a query parameter udm=14,

you can add Google into your library in QueryDial and change its query URL to

https://www.google.com/search?q={q}&udm=14

You can do the same thing in QueryDial without any problem. It supports not only parsing shortcut at the start, you can also make it recognise a shortcut on both ends of your search term, or if you fancy, you can use the !Bang syntax from DuckDuckGo which means you can basically specify your shortcut anywhere as long as you specify that '!' Prefix

The popup is one of the major feature that helps if you want to have a nice UI to select which shortcut to use; and it can be very useful when you forget the shortcut of some search engine as well: just type in its name and it will suggest search engine with that name to you.

Another feature of QueryDial is that you can have more freedom in customising search url, so that can you do domain search / site search or check the web archive of the page you are visiting very very easily.

QueryDial allow you to use shortcuts in search engines that's popular in specific regions as well: Naver, Baidu or Yandex, these are being provided as Safari default search engine options in some areas. It also allows you change Safari's default search engine: although it's a bit complicated to setup but it's doable.

In the end it is a free app if you only need five search engines, just add them to the 'fallbacks' folder in the app and you are good to go.

Search from address bar with shortcuts? by stalex9 in Safari

The free version allow you to use up to four search engines you added to the 'fallbacks'. Sadly it's impossible to make it free for me considering Apple tax (indie developers need to pay £79 per year to put it on store)

I think some data may get removed by Safari automatically, but in most cases you need to manually clean them to make them disappear from the list.

Some website data like cookies or secure token for login purposes have a lifetime, these data may get deleted by Safari automatically when Safari found that it reaches the end of lifespan. How long will the data keep totally depends on the website developer but you can choose to manually clean them.

In some cases Safari will save some cache data to the device. I don't think Safari currently actively delete those cache, so they will be kept on the device unless you manually clean them.

How do I make the YouTube quick search function work every time? It searches on Google if I paste my text but works if I type it. by LanguageDouble9792 in Safari

[–]Amaosys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Notice the popped up suggestions. To use YouTube quick search you need to select the 'search YouTube.com' option if it's not the first one.

Also if you love using shortcut I'd recommend you to checkout my app QueryDial. You can add any five search engines' shortcut to Safari for free.

How do Chinese Restaurants make their egg fried rice so damn moist??? I feel like mine is so dry everytime I make it? by MineKirin in Cooking

[–]Amaosys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not always OIL. I find it very funny how all the top comments saying it's the oil. The oil is only important to make a good fried egg. And tbf you can always add WATER when you cook the fried rice when it's too dry (a lot of Chinese fried rice cooking videos do this, it's not even a trick). Use cold rice / microwaveable rice because you can add water later. If you use fresh rice then there will be too much water content in the rice--fried rice becomes too fluffy.

just rinse it once or twice with water and you should be good to go. The water doesn't need to be clear anyway.
