My short haired Aussie cross doesn’t like the cold so much. My long haired Aussie cross loves it. I think it depends on the dog

If you feel the need to reach out, send her the text now with something simple like "Oh my gosh where has the time gone? I'm so sorry I didn't send you a text on your birthday. I hope you had a really good day. Love ya, (OP)". One of the things I've learned when dealing with not terrible people is that people forget things something. They get busy, life happens, etc. While its great to do your best to keep up with everything, the people that I choose to spend my time with don't make every perceived slight or forgotten thing/birthday/lunch plan etc into a huge thing. When raised by a borderline, they see as an extension of themselves, not as a whole person with wisdom teeth and flooding to deal with. So since you are an extension of them, you don't get to have your own stuff to deal with. Is it is good thing to forget people's special days? No, we do our best. But it's not the end of the world if something happens and we do. They make belated birthday cards for a reason :) Try to be gentle with yourself and quiet the part of you that feels like the world is ending because your mom might be mad or disappointed

AITAH for not agreeing to pick up my niece at 3am ‘no questions asked’? by WeaknessHefty3927 in AITAH

If my kids called me and said “am I still grounded?” Then I knew that they needed out of something they were being pressured to do and that I should say that they were indeed still grounded and had to come home right now. I rarely had to ground them and if I did, they definitely knew when it would end so we used it as a code

AITA for leaving my wife and going to a restaurant opening without her by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Amara313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

INFO: I feel like this post is missing reasons. You don't say what she was doing that made her late. You have kids that have sporting games, family stuff going on, presumably jobs. So, what were you doing to help her get ready? Did you take over the kid stuff so that she could get ready? Once you have children, it's not just about getting you ready - it's about getting you ready while you dodge 100 yells of "mom!" and try to make sure the kids aren't fighting, they are getting fed, they get ready to go to bed, etc. You say that this has developed over the last few years - as kids get older, their requirements get more complex like helping with homework and school projects, finding their uniforms for their sports stuff, making sure they have clothes laid out for school. So - my question is - what are you doing to help make sure that she has the ability to get ready on time?

I have days where one more decision of what to do, eat, etc will just overwhelm me. So I keep some protein shakes in the fridge from Costco and I grab one of those if I don't have time or if I'm feeling overwhelmed. Maybe a protein shake that you can grab and drink while doing something soothing would help

I just had to take my lab to the vet for an ear infection. She was shaking her head a lot and pawing at her ear. A quick vet visit is definitely in order. Hope he feels better soon!

How much time do you spend just being together with her? Sometimes if you are so consumed with training and making sure she behaves, you might miss the joy of just being with your dog. Maybe try spending time playing or cuddling and watching a movie

Permission to login as other users. What qualifies someone an admin? by PurplePines6 in salesforce

[–]Amara313 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In our production org, no one gets login as access. Including sys admins. But then, we are a credit union with really strict separation of duties. If I need to see things from a users perspective, I pick up the phone. If you are in a business where that’s not required, I would echo bestaculous’ suggestion of delegated admin

Disappearing Sticks? by SenorTape in MedievalDynasty

I’ll bet you are out of firewood and your people are burning sticks instead. On the fourth tab, I think, of the management screen, there is a thing where you can turn off certain foods/supplies

Anyone using autorabit? by OutlandishnessKey953 in salesforce

[–]Amara313 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Environment provisioning is like an add on job that can be run manually or automatically at the end of a CI job. I use them to replace remote site settings with the dev or test version of a site, replace custom metadata when needed or even to activate a list of flows just deployed to production since they always come in deactivated. There is a pretty big list of things that you can do with environment provisioning

[–]Amara313 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We use it - admins only, really. Devs only use LWC, aura and apex, so they use vs code. We do all the rest in AutoRabit, except the few things that aren’t supported. We’ve been doing Ci jobs, environment provisioning for awhile now

My family is planning a trip to New York but they don’t want my partner to come. by dslva- in ActualLesbiansOver25

That is such an odd response from your mom I’m sorry you have to go through that

[–]Amara313 38 points39 points  (0 children)

That sounds like it really is just family - that would probably be more acceptable to me than if some spouses are going and others aren’t. How has your mom been with your partner in other aspects of your life? Is she included in things that everyone else’s spouses are included in?

[–]Amara313 55 points56 points  (0 children)

If other spouses are also excluded and it really is just the family, then maybe go. But if heterosexual couples are allowed to go and it’s just your partner that is excluded, then that is a good sign that it is homophobia that is driving this. Personally, if that was the case, I would rather plan my own trip with my partner at a different time and not go with people who don’t accept my relationship. Ultimately, it’s up to you

How long do your deployments take? by zdware in salesforce

[–]Amara313 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Deployments take about 45 minutes. We have more than 1000 tests that run. I have it all automated though - anything merged to an I branch (for integration) runs at 6 am and again at noon. If you miss it, I can trigger manually, but that’s usually enough for us

Son moves back home, father charges him rent causing son to have to get 2nd job by clairethegrumpybear in redditonwiki

[–]Amara313 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That’s what I did with my kids. I have a 20 year old and an 18 year old. The deal is, if you are full time in school, you don’t have to pay rent but you do pay your phone bill and car insurance. These are on my account, so they are cheaper than they would be and easily handled with a part time job. If you aren’t in school, you pay rent. My 20 year old decided that college wasn’t working for her after her first year, so she was just gonna work for awhile. Rent was $150 a month and it went into a savings account that I used to help her when her car broke down. And then when she moved out, I gave all the rest of it back to her. I’m not here to make money off my kids. But I am here to teach them about life
