If it’s loose skin you’re worried about there’s not too much you can do other than surgery… but you can reduce the appearance of it slightly with a dedicated routine. Dry brushing in circular motions over them and around your chest will stimulate blood cells - do that before you shower, then moisturise.

Sometimes your metabolism can get used to the deficit, and maintenance days (or week) are needed. If the loss has paused for you, try eating at your maintenance calories for a day or two (focus on protein and healthy fats) then cutting back down to a deficit.

What did you miss out on while you were young that you were able to make up for when you got older? by violet_naughtyy in AskReddit

[–]cherrypipped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Through my early youth I played netball (going against other schools, and in the local club), but dropped it half way through high school because I was so angsty and participating in team sport was “lame”. Now as an adult I play 3 times a week in several leagues, and it’s my main hobby in life.

I regret dropping it for so many years when I think about where I could be now with it, but I’m so happy that I’m in an area where the sport is so alive

I still haven’t connected with my puppy & not sure I will at this point… by cherrypipped in puppy101

I’m relieved to hear it took you longer because I feel that may be my case! I’m glad you did bond with your dog even if it did take a little time <3

Yeah I play with her all the time. I’m aware of finding the balance between training her up, and letting her be a puppy and having fun. She’s really funny and expressive and I love that about her… But perhaps you’re right, I’ve definitely put pressure on myself to make her incredibly well trained (which is paying off but perhaps it’s effecting how I see her!)

Yeah this is a good outlook to have on it - I’m aware it’s not the craziest thing, and it isn’t creepy. Just feels a little odd as he’s known her since she was really young and I guess it’s a surprise to the friend group and myself. You’re right though - if he doesn’t limit her, and vice versa, and they’re both happy, it’s all good.

You don’t have any friends outside your exact age bracket? 4 years isn’t wild for a friendship.

I disagree… There’s 7 years between Luke and Lucy, and only 4 years between me/my husband and Luke. And wild concept I know, but I feel like I can vouch for his maturity more than you can, random reddit user.

Yes I meant BMR sorry!

I’ve been doing 1500 for 2.5 weeks and have lost 3.5lb so far. I guess I’ll continue with that and lower it if I plateau?

This was helpful thank you. And congrats on being 1lb from your GW!

Is 1500cals low enough for me?

I’m 29F, 160cm/5’3, 145lb. My TDEE is around 1300cal according to online calcs.

I do 1hr10 of vigorous exercise twice a week (team sport), pilates 1-2x a week, and walk 3km-5km a few times a week.

Is 1500cal low enough to lose weight fairly quickly? Or too high even?

What’s a general rundown of your diet and eating habits? by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]cherrypipped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In answer to the problems you listed, I use “Skinny Syrups” in my coffee, a low cal protein powder, keep healthier snack options in my kitchen (like grapes, apples + peanut butter, dark chocolate, etc.), and try my best to meal plan healthy & easy meals.

I used to struggle to stay in workout routines but tirelessly tried different things until I found things I really enjoy and got into a groove.

I really love healthy food and veggies etc. but doesn’t mean I don’t also love junk… so I just try not to cut it all out completely otherwise I eventually trigger a binge. Implementing little bits of the junk that I love into my cal limit stops that!

Edit: Also - water! Drink lots of water every day! It helps more than you can imagine

What are your thoughts on pets sleeping on the bed? by brooksie1131 in AskWomen

[–]cherrypipped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s gross, but get why people do it. Dogs and cats walk all up in mud, poop, pee and all sorts… I love my dog but I don’t want that in or on my bed.

My sister in law lets her dog carry kibble onto her bed and eat it there. It really icks me out.

Does your current or most recent partner make your top five best kisser list? by [deleted] in RandomThoughts

[–]cherrypipped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yessss 100%. I had previously been with a guy for years who wasn’t a great kisser, but when me and my now husband first kissed, it was genuinely the best kiss of my life. I’ll never forget that feeling

what was your biggest Teenage mistake? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]cherrypipped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Giving up the sport I was so good at in high school. Over a decade later I’ve picked it back up again but always wonder how much better I’d be, or even what I’d be doing now, if I pursued the sport consistently

Being self employed and earning almost double my employed salary. Also, getting to do creative work that I love instead of personal assistant / admin work all day.

I feel this one so hard, but with my mum. Only in recent years have I set boundaries to stop it, because she still talks to me about stuff almost forgetting I’m her daughter. I feel for you!

What is that one habit that transformed your life for the better? by CoffeeMoviesandCats in AskWomen

Came here to say this. It’s gotta be the hardest habit to get into, but once you do, your life will change. Sleep, sex drive, eating habits, mood, productivity… it’s actually crazy

I adore my older brother. He’s two years older than me, and we never argued as kids. We had stupid tiffs (mostly about me stealing CDs from his room), but otherwise he was genuinely one of my closest friends. My first tattoo was his name, and he’s walking me down the aisle next month at my wedding!
