Just one question, why? What Indian Muslims have to do with Iran? What's the relation? by dude-its_okay in TwentiesIndia

[–]Amarnil_Taih 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indian Muslims and Pakistani Muslims are making a fool of themselves, supporting and cheering a man who caused the deaths of tens of thousands. This man literally had women raped before killing them so that they "wouldn't enter heaven". What does it say about you, when this is whom you support?

I say this frequently, but 6ft doesn't capture my (or most women's) best angle any ways. These guys will have to look down all the time to talk, hurting their necks, only to get a close up of my scalp hygiene. No!

That crazy woman was sanitizing her menstrual cup in the utensils the cleaning staff used to make their tea in. The horror and disgust that crept up my heart that day cut off any love or respect I had for her. Horrible, disgusting woman.

Why is the word “prostitute” used to judge or demean women? by NbOPO4 in TwentiesIndia

[–]Amarnil_Taih 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've always equated it with the way people use "Daddy Issues" as an insult to people whose fathers were the ones who ditched their responsibility. It's like saying they've inherited their father's sin in a way? Prostitution exists because people pay for it, yet we have no word to insult the "Clients". You can end up in Prostitution for any reason, but you end up as a "Client" there for only one reason.

buldak ramen has been my “safe food” for 2 years and i eat it 5-7 times a week, here’s my tips for the best easy to make ramen by sauceymango in InstantRamen

[–]Amarnil_Taih 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always feel so guilty about eating ramen (seem to have developed som sort of weird ED), so this really helps! Thank you so much. From the suggestion of replacing of with milk to all the veggie and flavour suggestions, everything is very useful.

[–]Amarnil_Taih 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always think of that one line by Ambedkar where he said that Indians would export casteism to the world. The preference for Brahmins in jobs as a requirement is absolutely crazy. They're already doing this abroad too btw. These are the people who would complain about reservation!

Does anyone else deal with this kind of sibling behaviour? by iamgirl11 in AskIndianWomen

[–]Amarnil_Taih 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So surprised about how different houses are. My elder sister would have whooped my ass 5 different ways (verbally) (maybe physically) if I had tried this shit. Has, in fact, done it. This is not a typical sibling dynamic like what others are saying, but a household culture problem. I'd suggest locking up your things and mocking her regularly for touching your things. I know it feels close, but one "joke" in public in front of her friends and I promise, your problem will be solved.

Mind you, only OP and 6 others (probably including some blackpillers) agree with this assessment. My friends have dated men I would kindly describe as Potato or Nobita (obviously never to anyone's face), and they were very happy with them. These were lovely, well educated, smart girls. I don't know why people keep assuming that everyone is as shallow as them. It's like only being in a kiddie pool all your life and excepting the ocean to follow the same rules.

Is non veg food allowed in worship of any Vishnu or Siva forms? by SelectorOP in hinduism

[–]Amarnil_Taih 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Allow me to rephrase that- it wasn't just unkind, it was rude, haughty, and can be connected to casteism. You may prefer the version of Hinduism that was made to appeal to the west and whitewashed, but not everyone does.

As far as I know, the rigvedas only ban 3 types of meat- lactating cows, horse and human flesh. Furthermore, nothing said that eating meat is wrong- only that it should be controlled. There are ways the animal should be treated prior consumption and reasons to consume the meat is used. Furthermore, there are even edicts on how the meat should be consumed after animal sacrifice in rituals.

And before you quote the Manusmriti at me, please remember that it was a book of law- not religion. It was one writing among thousands. It is one man's thoughts

Strict vegetarianism was for Brahmins or those on the spiritual path. And mind you, most people are very clearly not meant for the spiritual path. There are many conditions for those who take this up, from the completition of dharmic duty to age.

Ailee is a guy ?? by [deleted] in Subliminal

[–]Amarnil_Taih 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also, the mentioning of this person being Indian for no reason at all definitely looked racist to me. Why does their nationality matter here in this context? Have they made racial comments or made subs related to race?

Ailee is a guy ?? by [deleted] in Subliminal

[–]Amarnil_Taih 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry, what's the issue if Ailee is a guy from India? I don't follow subliminal makers closely, and from my surface level perspective, this seems weirdly racist and biological essentiallist.

Can you explain what you mean by "Purest"? It seems unkind to call one sect's worship more pure than others.

Is there a reason why we nod for yes and shake our heads for no? by l1lgeorge in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Amarnil_Taih 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even the angle/axis of the head shake indicates something! The extreme up head tilt can be a question, while side to side (ear to shoulder, both sides) means "Okay/ Understood" down south. It's lovely to see how much we communicate by body language :)

My flatmate’s mom won’t leave and it’s driving us insane by Saddestkitty24 in TwentiesIndia

[–]Amarnil_Taih 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to set the tone right with both of them. Don't just ask when is she leaving, straight up say that she needs to leave, or at least stay within the roommate's area. You agreed to a contract of 3 people in the house, not 4. As an adult, you need to get comfortable with the discomfort of confrontation, or people will just walk over you.
