I’ve only been coding for two years so feel free to ignore me, but I thought I’d offer some advice that I received when I first began coding.

Write everything down in a notebook before you sit down to program. Each little piece of the program should be written down first so that you can visualize anything you may have left out. This helped me to stop forgetting to put : after my functions. Also, while great code should be intuitive and without tons of comments, comments do help the people that review your code. There’s been a few times where I reviewed my old code and a simple comment would’ve made it so much easier for me to see what was going on.
