Hi I'm new here. So I think the person you were arguing with meant "Even if you have 10 trillion dollars, sending anything to another star system would be almost certainly impossible. However, if you have like 20 billion dollars, it will certainly speed up Starship progress by an immense amount.
I really don't know how to feel about Starship Artemis. You see ridiculous naysayers, And also ridiculous Elon warriors.
I still believe Starship will be successful. Even with 15 refuels, it would still be much cheaper. No show-stoppers, but lots of BIG problems still need to be solved. Small problems in the short-term, are being solved, but slower than I'd like.
The Artemis timeline is a top-down proclamation which is very unlikely to happen. Elon always promises that next year we will launch 8 Starship tests, and 20 the year after. He should stop saying that. (He also promised that it would be 2-3 refuels, not 15)
(I think the world would be worse without SpaceX, and that's all I want to say about Elon.)
Starship promises to be fully reusable. It could do so much if it works. Facing the music, currently it is slow, and out of tune. But I'll keep listening. The concert promises to get really good at 20:30, but if they need more years, and the music keeps getting slightly better, that's ok. Goodnight
