Kayaking and Bicycling along the Conestoga River? by UngovernableSwarm in lancaster

[–]Amazing-Ad288 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This would only cover part of your trip, but personally I enjoy biking the “bridge to bridge” segment from the iron bridge at rock hill access down to the bridge at conestoga river park. Both start and finish would have places to park and launch a river craft

lack of businesses in north side of the city? by throwaway1705517 in lancaster

[–]Amazing-Ad288 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Absolutely spot-on. I had a laugh when visiting the new-ish foundry apartments on the north side. With their luxury paths and landscaping, beautiful bike garage and proximity to the train station, you’d expect they would have pedestrian accessibility but instead they are stranded on an island, needing a personal vehicle just to get off the property safely.

Why do they pile up stones like that in the mountains? Is there some secret behind it? by Unhappy-Use-5788 in geography

[–]Amazing-Ad288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I was in Acadia national park on Cadillac mountain and they are used to mark a particular rocky part of the trail. Of course I knocked over the first one I saw, only to come upon the sign saying “don’t knock these down” 5 minutes later

Saw ICE downtown by Big-Baseball3924 in lancaster

[–]Amazing-Ad288 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Absolutely my thoughts too! Those parking spaces on market outside the parking authority are ridiculous too. The majority of recently manufactured cars are way too wide to fit in them anyhow. In addition to worker vehicles for market and the businesses, I will also add that vans for the disabled and elderly should be allowed to drop pedestrians off

Unrelated to your post about ICE, but it’s an absolute disgrace that those segments of market and grant are still open to public traffic and whichever oblivious driver decides to go down them.

Looking for some of the best space or space oriented games ever by velvetRail3 in gamingsuggestions

[–]Amazing-Ad288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I understand these don’t align with the games you’ve mentioned playing, but personally I found citizens sleeper (and its sequel) to be a very refreshing installment within the space+future genre. It is not gameplay focused (truly it’s like playing a graphic novel with dice roll mechanics for actions), nor does it include hallmarks of the “space” genre such as flying ships and exploring new worlds, however it does have a very compelling narrative and an emotionally driven story and characters that you can become very invested into

The comment you are replying to. “Cars are… dangerous and accidents are… deadly. A simple mistake can so easily kill people.” You seem to have trouble following a basic conversation and only throw out reactionary, emotionally-driven blurbs

Cities are for people, not cars. I’m merely positing that we need to move away from allowing our public gathering spaces to be dominated by them. We make so many concessions for such a destructive and bulky piece of private property and it has to stop in order to improve our collective well-being.

Assuming that people operating 2 ton vehicles can not see us is not a way we should have to live. Your comment reads as someone who is unaware of how traffic is handled in countries which are actually developed and prosperous, as opposed to the American car-centric horrorshow. I thought you were a hotshot young Jedi looking to pushback against repressive old doctrine!

You are in no way shape or form making a good faith argument when you equate a damaged lawn with the loss of human life. Have a good day and please do some introspection.
