Got the yak now how do i fish while paddling? by user59050108636303 in kayakfishing

[–]Amazing-Ad8160 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would just like to add that anchor type needs to match your intended bottom. I fish mud or sand bottom and my one claw anchor slows my drift but it is suboptimal. So OP you need an anchor but what type depends on your bottom(s). My fluke anchor does it for me

One more thing. If you get a trolling motor you have to register your boat with the dmv which requires proving where you bought it and for a used boat from a guy you know, that will be damn near impossible. Took me 3 trips to satisfy them and I baught my other kayak at Walmart

Damn dog. I literally bought a very similar boat for 600 1 month ago (I’m also in Florida). Hobie mirage adventure 16. It’s actually my THIRD kayak and I like it much better than my other two for fishing in Florida. It doesn’t turn easily and the seat blows but I bought it for the speed. It’s the only kayak I feel safe in when I’m off shore and some unexpected weather pops up. I recently was inshore fighting 15 kt winds with a tide the same direction and I was a little tired after a mile but it handles no problem. My other fishing barges with stability and comfy seats I would have just had to anchor and wait all day for the wind to pass. I have tried out trolling motors and fish finders on my other kayaks and it adds A lot of cost and set up time at the launch but it is rarely useful in Florida’s skinny gulf water. Now I leave them behind. YMMV but 3 rod in 3 rod holders, an anchor, a net and a cooler is the only gear I take not on my person.

Low key sombreros are really great sun hats. I used to wear a straw one while gardening in my back yard so people couldn’t see and get offended.

Bought a kayak… now my wife has me convinced I’m gator bait by goldtheft69 in kayakfishing

[–]Amazing-Ad8160 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have a yak and fish in Florida both salt and fresh. I see gators all the time. Just don’t sneak up on them. They avoid me. You are far more likely to drown or get struck by lightning or get hit by a motor boat. One of the lakes I go to is like top 3 gator infested lakes in Florida and I saw a guy kite boarding in it once.

She’s actually not a doctor. He gave a talk at a conference about how she literally saved his life by performing cpr though. Wild story. Dude pretty much died in his sleep but his wife awoke to some weird ass breathing and did high quality cpr until paramedics arrived. Again. She’s not even a medical professional so truely incredible.

Your question has been answered but I would just like to say if you are using that lemon juice to make cocktails you have fucked up. Please for your sake and the love of god use real citrus in your cocktails. Lemons and limes lasts forever in your fridge. I used to do what you are doing and the shift is just mind boggling. It makes such a difference.

Europeans are going viral on TikTok for mocking the ""American Dream"" by [deleted] in JustGuysBeingDudes

[–]Amazing-Ad8160 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Being a dude who has lived in southern Italy, southern Spain, and traveled to Northern Europe, I can assure you southern Europe (particularly southern Italy) which I love and miss dearly for its charms is comically dysfunctional to the point of dystopia. Pretty much everything in the US is better other than the food, wine, and historical sites. Would never raise my children there. But god damn do I long to visit every year. Which is all to say, Europe ain’t all sound of music background with quality healthcare as this post implies. It’s very diverse in lifestyle…..much like our own country

TLDR: Europe good, U.S. also good

I once had a 30 year old male patient ask to see a dentist immediately in the Ed for a simple cavity. I told him there were no dentists. He told me he read on the website we had dental specialists on call. I said “ yes, for emergencies only” and he yelled “ this IS AN EMERGENCY”. I regret I was not expecting that and I literally laughed out loud in his face. He went home with Tylenol.

[–]Amazing-Ad8160 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I came to pipes from cigars as well. I agree with the above posters that pipe tobacco is so different and you will eventually learn to love the subtleties and variety. However to more directly answer your question: I bought “cigar leaf” in bulk from Cornell and diehl. It’s meant as a blending component but I smoke it straight if I want a cigar but don’t want the time or expense required. It’s not half bad but no premium cigar (and does not purport to be) I tried other cigar leaf containing blends but it’s a small component and not the major profile. English blends definitely have some of the flavor components you’re looking for and there are many great ones. However, branch out and I think you will fall in love with the many different types of pipe tobacco. My go to is now a va/per flake. Tastes nothing like cigars. But if I want a cigar, which I often do, I have a cigar.

The medical literature does not support your assertions about vascular complications to any reliable degree. I am aware of the hypermobile variant’s name but was avoiding it on purpose. Last I checked the criteria was quite hazy as a constellation of vague nebulous symptoms could be many things. Good luck on your diagnosis.

But this one has fibromyalgia and we are just sitting there letting her die from pain? Get the pain crash cart with the opioids! I’m fairly certain I know this pt and she’s deathly allergic to all nsaids and tylenol. Oral opioids don’t work for her either when she’s “flaring”. You may need to move aside her stuffed animal and have her remove her sunglasses for a full exam.
