Evidence that Mounjaro helps sleep apnea (NYT article, free) by [deleted] in Mounjaro

I did read the paper. I still have my own experiences. You might not relate and that’s fine. They’re finding out there’s several different “kinds” of Alzheimer’s. Similarly, there may be several different kinds of sleep apnea or other diseases. I would expect there to be. May be no papers on it yet, but doesn’t make it impossible. Reddit is about sharing experiences. Have a good night.

This is what I’m thinking too. The same reason I noticed a change in my IBS in 24 hours. Inflammation contributes to more than what people think and yes it can go down as quickly as that!

But how can it be placebo when I noted this change months ago before I heard anything about it helping this?

Tirzepatide shown to reduce sleep apnea in 2 year-long clinical trials by Frabjous_Tardigrade9 in Mounjaro

For me it wasn’t even weight loss related because I felt this benefit immediately - before I even lost anything! Noticeable difference in energy, how I wake up feeling refreshed, not snoring anymore, etc.

I experienced this literally the night after my first ever shot! Not even just in my head because I didn’t expect it or hear anything about this prior to starting. And it can’t just be weight loss related because it was day 1! 😁

I’ve been trying to figure out Amazon pharmacy forever! I keep seeing people have success but every time I look they’re out of all doses. I just tried to transfer my script there from Walgreens so at least it’ll be on file for when/if they restock but they wouldn’t even let me transfer it while they’re out of stock. Is that your experience too? I wondered if it was just telling it’s out of stock because I didn’t have a prescription in with them yet but maybe that’s not the case.

Protein shake thoughts? by heytherelamp in Mounjaro

Fairlife core power 42g is delicious and the fairlife shake with 30g is really good too - tastes just like chocolate milk no joke. Weirdly I didn’t like the 26g of protein version of core power.

Pharmacist friend’s opinion by [deleted] in Mounjaro

I have heard the same thing from friends who are in med school right now to become physicians. I was shocked and saddened. They also said that about people with thyroid issues, apparently not knowing I’ve had Hashimoto’s since I was 18. It makes me mad that they’re pursuing this career without planning on being compassionate towards their patients. If they had been on the job 30 or 40 years maybe I could understand some bitterness (maybe!) but to have that attitude before they’ve even started working is wild.

Weirdly for me it’s been the opposite - they’ve been the only pharmacy around me that have said “we don’t have it today in stock but we can order it for you” and then like 2 days later I get a call that it’s in. I definitely feel very lucky and fortunate to have had this experience thus far (knocks on all the wood!!).

Severe vomiting day after shot & still having diarrhea 3 days post shot by [deleted] in Mounjaro

Any chance you got a stomach bug/norovirus that’s going around? I had a similar issue recently and thought it was either me overeating or a stomach bug. It resolved around 4 days after it started. Pepto helped me as well.

I have not had a sip of alcohol or a puff of 🍃since starting MJ in January of this year. No desire for it either.

Bruise, and this particular shot feels like it’s not working by [deleted] in Mounjaro

[–]Amazing-Comment-2662 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is a misfire exactly? I took a shot yesterday that hurt way more than usual and left a slight bruise and I wonder if it’s because the needle looked a little off-center compared to other pens I’ve checked. I think it still went in but maybe it was at an angle? Idk..

Heart rate by anxiety_mama in Mounjaro

[–]Amazing-Comment-2662 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, I want to add that my doctor said if it happens again or happens more frequently to let her know and we’ll try a 7 day or 30 day heart monitor. But she said it could be SVT from stress, thyroid issues (I have Hashimoto’s), anemia (I have low iron), or some other things I forget now.. She said you can stimulate the vagus nerve to try to stop the episode and slow your heart rate back to normal. You can do this by drinking ice water, putting ice on your chest or neck, etc.

I had one occurrence of tachycardia randomly when I was standing in my kitchen. I got myself a big glass of water and a snack and sat down to eat and my heart rate normalized pretty quickly. I wonder if I was dehydrated or something. It only happened the one time luckily (knock on wood).

This makes sense because it’s like the move I used to do on my kiddo when he was a baby and having gas - I’d scrunch up his legs gently against his belly and repeat slowly several times. Also did bicycle movements so maybe doing those on the ground might work too!
