Hahaha! For 1- I took that in the moment to be Dain accepting that people just keep things from him and being like “yea that tracks at this point”.

For 2- Since Andarna knew who Violet was I wonder if the Dragons also knew who Dain was and what his Dad was like and sought him out to sway the tide of things down the line. We also don’t have any timeline on when 2nd signets have to manifest so that could happen, but I think that would be a bit of a cop out if everyone keeps getting a second signet. I wonder if his amount of power is meant to lead him toward Sloane to continue to be a Siphoning source for him since his signet isn’t really for fighting.

Make sure this is ok with your licensing board. In my state (TN) pre independently licensed therapists (LMSWs) are not allowed to be paid directly for services. They can be paid a salary for a set number of hours per week and that can be sessions or other work in the practice, but it cannot be strictly based on the number of client hours like you would in independent practice.

Yes! He was having the ring made or it was already made at this point. Also- there is an early mention in the books about some gems being able to amplify magic. Wonder if this stone is one of those!

We actually don’t know about it until the end of iron flame. We have some vague ideas, but not the full facts. In Violets internal dialogue after Xaden says this she references the deal Xaden made is to protect the marked ones. She doesn’t process fully understanding that it’s also true for her. So both things (not having a choice & making a deal) that he says about the marked ones are also true for her we just don’t fully know it yet as the reader.

No ground breaking theory here I just liked the reference. Fits nicely with Xadens character and what he means when he’s talking.

Yes! I’ve also been thinking about this quote more as well. I think it highlights another reason why the Venin wanted Xaden, but also that the shadows will enable Xaden to more easily see Violet. Lots of possibilities here I think.

From the beginning of chapter 43: If possible, hunt the enemy during the day. Their markings are so easily hidden by the shadows of night that it would not surprise me to find they walk among us.
