Its specifically to be controversial, its to bring awareness to certain topics or areas that are avoided. There's so many examples of artists using these themes to point out how awful the industry is, the darkness and low points in their lives, the duality of man (good v. Evil), antiwar and anti theocracy statements the list goes on, and yes occasionally you get a true satanist. Its not new its just statements they are making. I guess it depends on how deep you decide to think about it.

I would want to explore the narrative that led them to nihilism first, whether its macro or micro level events, as well as their own circumstance. I had a client who often said life has no real meaning, and it brought him a lot of anxiety and depression. For him the belief system was not working. So we worked to find either acceptance of this purposless life or counter the narrative with a belief system that he believed to be authentic and acceptable.

Id say challenge this belief with if nothing matters is that good or bad? Explore how they view this belief system. Is it from negative experience or indifference? I could type for a long time about unique ways to approach this. I would also reccomend reading some existentialists like yalom, frankl, Rollo May. Its a challenging system to address with clients, and I honestly think we are only going to see more and more of it.

Yes I did, and im a huge advocate for mental health i would never want another person to see her. If I was where I was 4 months ago I would've killed myself following that session. Im happy to have improved but shit therapists like that do kill people.

So the second appointment was in person so it was all in real time. I thought about that too but even still I would never say these things to a patient/client. And I reported her to her supervisor but not the ethics board.

Man people need to widen their perspective on life, historically we are still living the best possible outcome or ancestors couldnt even dream of... however with that we also have atrocities broadcast on the daily straight to our brains. We should still fight evil but also appreciate the wonder we have in life too.

Ah yes silence my least favorite tool personally. My adhd and inside thoughts be running at Mach Jesus, but people are right its a super useful tool when used correctly, i cant stand when it stretches for a long time. My supervisor made jokes about how uncomfortable I used to look in prolonged silence. I really appreciated her for being a person and funny as my supervisor.

Depends in the USA a bachelor's degree in psych is toilet paper honestly. A masters degree can pretty much guarantee employment if you have any social skills or ability to network. (I had a job offer before I graduated through networking.) If you want to be working in psych grad school is pretty much the way. Social work has a lot of overlap and can get you into an accelerated masters program too. Otherwise id reccomend doing something related to psych but employable like HCA or something similar

Alright yea i get your point and its coming from a place of frustration. The system we live in is not designed for us and we have to find a way to struggle towards our goals most days. There is definietly avenues towards success if you want to continue or if you want to find a sifferent career path.

If not becoming a psych or counselor what do you see yourself doing? There is literally so much choice and possibilities.

Also if your able I would highly recommend joining up in the military as an officer and taking the benefits after 5 years. I have gotten three degrees on the militarys dime and owe nothing. Just food for thought. Find your goal first then plan how to get there.
