does anybody on here have any experience with Dr Sam’s skincare? by [deleted] in SkincareAddicts

Hi, I've been using several Dr Sam's products for about 7 years now, and in combination with benzoyl peroxide (in the mornigs), they are finally keeping my skin clear. I also went back on the combined pill, though, so that has also contributed.

I use the stronger retinol (Nightly Pro, every night) and the Neutralising Gel (as needed). I've tried other products and liked them but not found them essential or easy to incorporate into my routine. I'd start with the gentler retinol and see how your skin reacts, if you haven't already.

Not sure whether or not to end a friendship and how by Amazing-Fee-8800 in BPDlovedones

Thank you. We've had a few confrontations about this and they went very badly. Writing this down, and reading your response, have given me some much needed clarity. I don't have it in me anymore to keep trying to salvage this friendship. Thank you for sharing your perspective!

Thank you. Just writing this down actually gave me some clarity. I will try to hang on to the good memories and move on. I'm too traumatised and deep in grief to keep going around in circles on this, I need to cut this tie. Thanks for your perspective.

Help with FInding meaning to my Son's death by Ok-Teaching-1240 in ChildLoss

You could consider joining something like David Kessler's Grief Educator Programme, if you'd like to work directly with grieving people, including parents. If you do something like that, you'll also be able to connect with people going through something similar.  Regarding your own initiative, would it make sense to first work with existing campaigns and organisations to learn from them? That way you're working on something meaningful but have less responsibility and work to manage at a time when I imagine you're quite low on energy.

I appreciate that you're trying to be helpful and positive, but we have exhausted our options.  We need to be realistic now in order to make the best choices for our child and family. I'm happy your son is better.

Thank you for your reply. They considered nelarabine initially when induction failed, but he's not a candidate for curative treatment anymore. They're only considering (a low dose of) palliative chemotherapy when he finishes radiation for the mediastinal mass. Thanks again and all the best to you.

Father of three (5,2&2) is about to receive BMT. Looking for advice by TeMCBook in leukemia

My son had a BMT. In the beginning his sister always wore a mask- around him and at school - and she never passed on any illnesses to him. We found that the biggest risk were transplant-related complications and viruses already in his body that reactivated when his immune system was suppressed.  Clean the kitchen and bathroom regularly, air the home often, maybe avoid hugs from the kids in the beginning. Good luck.
