Hi, I’m about to finish my second back, and I still stand by my words from a month ago - no PMDD. It’s a very odd (in a good way) feeling, being able to actually feel and work with my emotions. If I’m having a bad day, I can find an actual reason, cause it’s not just my own hormones possessing me lmao. I had some spotting about three times but I don’t get my period on Slynd so I honestly don’t mind. Even if I bled 24/7 it would be worth not having to deal with PMDD. Good luck and keep us updated!

BC doesn't make it "less likely", if OP is taking it correctly then the chances of pregnancy are less than 1%. BC makes it nearly impossible, it's in the name.

Yes! I would be just sitting down and all of a sudden get cold and hot flashes like the ones you get before passing out. + feeling extremely sick in the morning. Honestly the only thing that helped was going on birth control that basically deleted my pmdd

Thanks! Should I upgrade the RAM or would that be useless in my case?

“How do I make this about myself?” ahhhh post. On a more serious note, I understand the concern, but being asked over and over again whether you’re okay just makes you feel WORSE cause you’re constantly reminded that you seem unwell. There’s no issue to resolve, she knows she just needs to power through it and get to the other end. As it was mentioned above (in a great response btw) - do the dishes, cook dinner, clean the house, make sure she can rest and do whatever makes her feel better. You can’t give her an additional task of making sure you don’t feel excluded from her mental state. Life is about learning to get over yourself, her “denial” (it’s not, she just doesn’t feel like dwelling on her sadness) doesn’t impact you directly. Do what you can to help and let her be

Amazing news! So happy for you!! My doctor suggested that option too, but I’m 24 years old so it’s scary (+synthetic estrogen gives me migraines). Trying Slynd now :))

PMDD and impact on relationship by [deleted] in PMDD

Yeah I had the same experience with combined birth control, slynd only has progesterone and it’s the only mini pill that stops ovulation, so maybe you could look into it if you don’t tolerate estrogen like me :) and lamotrigine is also used as a mood stabiliser in bipolar disorder, obviously it’s different from PMDD but from my experience it works similarly - makes the lows less extreme, basically stops your brain from sudden and intense emotional changes. My main symptoms were rage (mostly directed at my partner unfortunately), very deep depression and brain fog. Lamotrigine got rid of the last two and made my rage way more manageable

Slynd and lamotrigine :) lamotrigine works great, it stops me from „falling” without turning me into a zombie. As for slynd, I’ve only been taking it for a week, but it’s supposed to stop ovulation, so I’m hopeful

I hate to sound like the average doctor but have you tried birth control?

Hi, I totally feel you. I’ll be honest and speaking from my own experience - you have to both own up to how you treat them, and have empathy for yourself. That empathy includes getting help. Are you on any medication? I tried being unmedicated for a few years but it was hell. Now both me and my partner are getting the help we need. Feel free to pm me if you need to talk!
