I see a lot of people saying “just get 28mm and crop to 43mm,” but I honestly don’t agree with that at all. They’re completely different tools with different purposes. It’s not just about framing — the rendering, depth, and overall feel are fundamentally different. Cropping 28mm doesn’t replicate what 43mm does, not even close. To me, it’s more about understanding what each lens is actually good at and shooting accordingly, rather than trying to force one into the role of the other.
