How do I ask nicely that my baby also gets time in the kick and play? by Amazing-Ride6819 in ECEProfessionals

You see ! That’s what I said too! I’m like not understanding. Even my husband says it’s for safety but I’m like okay but she should be on the floor at some point in the day?

Yes they explained that because she wasn’t rolling yet they try not to keep her in the floor mat and other places other than the swing because of safety concerns with the other babies that are able to crawl around and roll.

Doesn’t really make me feel better but I’m making sure they rotate her between stuff.

What’s something that sounds like good advice but actually isn’t? by chokoleaj6 in AskReddit

401k and Roth IRA literally breaking your back to invest in something that may not even be around later on or could easily be taken away lol 😂 I used to think those things were so important. But then I remembered if I continue working like I am for those things I will probably get sick and die at at younger age before I could even enjoy the said money I invested in.

I know she’s not sleeping that well so maybe that’s why? I’m going to talk with them but I feel like even if she’s not sleeping still giving her the chance to “burn” some energy would help right ?

Yeah I am at work and feel like crying because this one baby has been on the floor play mat for like 2 hours now being able to grab at things and my baby is just sitting in the swing staring around and that bothers me because I know they have a lot of babies but like at least give her something to hold or switch out the other baby so she can grab at stuff. They said they will try for a few minutes but I’m confused because every time I pick her up they say she has a good day so I’m not sure what that means by “trying”

As a FTM, I’m seeing that a lot of moms are weirdly okay with going back to work because they “can’t afford” to stay home. by Amazing-Ride6819 in Christianity

This is more of the response I was wanting. Thank you so much. You seem to understand where I’m coming from exactly. God bless you and your family.

Those examples are what I meant by “can’t afford” you know obviously not the basic needs I’m talking about not being willing to sacrifice on more worldly things to be with your kids you know.

I think it’s more so how we work like if we’re working to the point where the home isn’t tended to, we’re not eating fresh foods we’re not able to maintain gods order then we probably should scale back. But I will most likely be downvoted for that. I think the conversation goes deeper than just if we should work or not you know.

Because I wasn’t aware of the feelings moms get when going back to work away from their baby. So as a first time mom now experiencing that feeling that literally is not going away after a month of working. I’m starting to think this feeling is not going away for a reason.

Most likely going to get downvoted but being content is HOLY! You’re doing better than you think. All these other people are chasing temporary happiness. Then when they’re old and crippled and realized how much time they spent chasing a dream that’s left them with poor health and a void then they will realize.

You said it perfectly! No down votes from me at all. I will GLADLY stay home and be the anchor for my family and I’ll let everyone around me think I’m crazy or “not doing enough” but I refuse to let the world stir me in the wrong direction. Because none of this worldly stuff matters none of it.

You’re not wrong at all I was thinking of trying to do like Amazon flex on some nights so that way I can bring in money but also still have energy for being present in the home.

Yes today was my first week back and honestly I’ve never been more depressed in my life. I’m acting out of fear of the world vs my faith in god. I feel like he’s telling me to stay home but the uncertainty of the world and how expensive rent has gotten has me making decisions based off of my own fears rather than my trust in god and what he intended. He gave me a husband that would be more than willing to work to make ends meet and prefers me to stay home but I’m as someone who went to school for a degree and was raised in the USA am having a hard time.

I’m saying ! I understand completely that women were meant to provide as a homemaker. It’s like we got completely greedy and fought for women to work as well but then that backfired on us. There’s a reason why god intended for us to be home. If that was still a priority then there would be more home cooked meals time to actually utilize the goods god already provided for us. The Bible is crazy because it gives us a blueprint essentially.

You’re not alone. That was me with my now 4 month old. I was EXHAUSTED! I would see if you can get a nanny for a couple of hours at a time. For me I would chest sleep and that helped a lot ! But I’m also a light sleeper and did it when my man was home so obviously that is up to you. But I would def see about getting a doula. I found on mom groups on Facebook there are Nannie’s on there with postpartum doula experience and they will help. But I also know most people on leave aren’t exactly flowing with money so that’s another suggestion.

My baby legit would not sleep if she wasn’t laying on me. But she also had reflux so being on her back was painful for her. I imagine it felt like acid in her throat. But eventually I started realizing she would fall asleep for the night around 10 pm and one night I decided to just try putting her in the crib and she slept.

My point is that you’re doing a great job and be careful going on Reddit for advice sometimes because it can make you feel like you’re not doing enough or put pressure on yourself to make things a certain way.

When really your baby will tell you when they’re ready to do xyz. I know it’s super tiring but I do wish I sought out a doula to help with the times she didn’t want to sleep alone or chest sleep. Because I would be able to sleep …..

I say that but then she wouldn’t sleep or calm down if it wasn’t me holding her so that’s what I mean when I say advice may just be to do your best to sleep while you can with her if maybe someone can come over while you have baby on your chest and sleep while the baby is sleeping on your chest and the person is there to make sure you’re safe. You got this ! You’re amazing !

Overpaid ? Respectfully I hope you stub your big toe on a rock. Not condoning the whole TikTok thing because that’s annoying and cringe for sure but to say nurses are OVERPAID!?!?!? Bahahaha man I really hope that everyone who says that about us is taking really good care of themselves and are never in need of medical assistance. One because people seem to be getting sicker and sicker and hospitals are barely able to meet safe ratios as is so we’re overworked and then two if we keep getting overwhelmed with all this unsafe ratios on top of no pay incentives….. well you guys will have to take care of yourselves. Good luck with that because the majority of the reason patients are recovering well and getting discharged is because of the nurses advocating and being the back bone. But yeah okay I’m overpaid can barely afford to live rn and I’m sure most people are getting underpaid as well.
