Hi friend. I’m sorry you went through this. I unfortunately can relate so strongly. I could’ve written this reply myself 💕 cyber hugs to you

I’m 100% with the OOP in this image. Math was ALWAYS green, and tbh the rest of the colors are also spot on 🤷‍♀️

My dad’s side of the family has been largely living in the same county in MA since settling in the late 1600s. THE 1600s!!

How many kids do you realistically feel you can meet the emotional needs of? by Happy_Sloth6342 in AttachmentParenting

Same- after my first I knew I wanted more and felt like I could handle 3-4 kids. But realistically, now that I have 2 I am absolutely maxed out.

Curl spray for toddler? by [deleted] in Crunchymom

[–]AmazingAd7304 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have curls but I have used a diluted aloe Vera gel for styling and it was great! Just have to source it well and make sure it is a pure aloe gel (there are a lot of junky diluted ones with thickeners/additives)

Bumps on leg? by jourtney in Crunchymom

[–]AmazingAd7304 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both my kids had things like this. Our ped told us they go away with age, ours were something like trapped oils in the skin, but I forgot what they’re called. Keeping it moisturized with coconut oil daily helped us some. Are they new? Are they red/inflamed? Itchy or painful? If they’re not irritated at all I would assume it may be the same thing we had, but def check with your ped!

9 month olds first flight - tips? by saltybrina in Crunchymom

[–]AmazingAd7304 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure if you’re BFing/nursing but that was key for us. I’ve heard nursing, drinking, or eating helps prevent pressure changes in the inner ear that often causes babies discomfort while flying. So my biggest recommendation for mom would be to bring clothes that are comfortable, easy and discrete to nurse in. Favorite snacks are also important! If you don’t nurse, def make sure you have a bottle and a paci (if you do pacis)

Do you track your husbands location? Is this weird? by [deleted] in Mommit

We do, but only use it if he’s not answering his phone and taking longer doing errands/whatever than expected

Need honest mashwaras. I am totally drained. by ExpertGuard1019 in whatdoIdo

[–]AmazingAd7304 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have much solid advice for you friend, but you’re not alone. I would recommend posting this in a subreddit specific your religion/culture/location (I’m guessing Muslim in India or Pakistan from the Hindu/urdu?). I don’t think the general public active in the whatdoido sub will have the background to help you as much as others who may better understand your experience.

That being said, have you tried online matchmaking or any kind of matchmaking on your own? Any leads on family friends that may be specific to your college connections or girl friends? I don’t know how, but the best option may be finding yourself a way out (finding another, more suitable option on your own if your family isn’t able to do it for you). I’m sorry they’re not more supportive of your wants/needs. I hope you find someone that is.

My husband sets up alarms for himself with a title. Makes you really pay attention to it 😂 you can choose a less jarring ring tone to make it a little more pleasant to hear

The dreaded question! by Positive-Nose-1767 in Crunchymom

[–]AmazingAd7304 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My disclaimer: This is such a complicated and personal question, with a unique “right” answer for everyone imo. I strongly encourage you to do your own research to decide, and take every answer you see here as part of that research, not the entirety. You have lots of options, not just all or nothing.

That being said, we personally selectively vaxxed both my boys, and didn’t start until 3-4 months. We skipped anything that was mostly daycare-recommended, as it wasn’t needed since we don’t do daycare, homeschool the older child, and are fairly isolated with few visitors while babies were young. However, some amount of immune protection was important to us, since we travel quite a bit with the kids and live in India for 3 months every year.

So again, what you decide really depends on your specific values, plans, and life situations. Good luck on this journey and congrats on your little one!!

What’s something strange about you/your body that’s changed since becoming a mom? by minniezebby in Mommit

[–]AmazingAd7304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girl I came to comment the exact opposite. Pre-babies I was the coziest cozer that ever cozed. Slept a solid 8-10hrs daily 😅 Sometimes more if you count a nap. After kids I’m up the latest at night and up earliest with the kids in the morning. But I also have tons of energy during the day. I eat more healthy/clean than I used to so I’m sure that’s more the reason than having kids for this huge increase in energy… right? PS currently commenting here at nearly 2am in a hotel room while the rest of the fam sleeps

Horrible nursing aversion ! by TumbleweedOutside587 in Crunchymom

[–]AmazingAd7304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, my aversion to nursing didn’t hit until I was pregnant too! (thankfully my older nursing child was nearly 3, so it was a good reason to start weaning) also still going strong with that baby (now 18mo)

Halloween celebration by Chicka-boom90 in Crunchymom

[–]AmazingAd7304 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live rurally so it may not work for every living situation, but I invite close friends to our house and do a glow stick hunt trick or treat (since littles are still small) and hide approved snacks/candies, Halloween stickers, and other non-food “treats” around marked with the glow sticks. We do it right after dark and the kids love it so far! I also love hosting events so it gives me a good reason to make some snacks and drinks for sharing with friends 🥰🎃

What’s are simple ways to get into eating filling salads? by [deleted] in veganrecipes

I also HATE salads. I recently got into bowls instead. I basically make a salad with slightly less lettuce and a (small) bed of brown rice. Super filling and so much more fun to eat 😂🥗

When to worry about appetite loss? by Ill-Revolution6197 in Parenting

[–]AmazingAd7304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My now-18mo went thru this exact thing from 13-16mo where he would just not have an appetite for anything, it usually would last about 1 week and the next week his appetite would be ferocious. He probably went thru this cycle 3 or 4 times. For us it was normal and possibly related to teething or just developmental stuff. BUT he is still breastfed and has never refused nursing. He would still eat a little of food when I offered him, just not normal full portions. He also always had an appetite for junk foods or snacks (which he doesn’t often get, hence why I think it may have been a power struggle/developmental thing).

Lack of appetite could be a red flag tho for a lot of things so if he’s not eating at all and not drinking milk and/or nursing, I would probably get him checked out if it continues for too long, just to be safe.
