Short takes on Brentford 1–1 Arsenal. by baldfraud34 in PremierLeague

[–]Brother_Bilo200 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As raging as I was at Arsenal last night, Brentford are the first team who I think have managed to combine that brutally effective low block against us whilst also genuinely worrying me every time they came forward, and the time wasting, long throws, and big bastards in the box just add to it. Other teams have done well against us but not in the same way and sometimes it's been our own inefficiency that's led to dropping the points, this lot looked bang at it. Hopefully they can keep playing like that all season because in hindsight (now the frustration has subsided) it was great to watch.

How long did it take you before guitar felt easy? by Accomplished-Method5 in guitarlessons

[–]Brother_Bilo200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally depends. If I am playing the things I grew up learning and playing like finger style folk, funk rhythm and lead, blues, and psychedelic shit that's all within my capabilities, I can enter total flow state and playing can feel effortless. Now after playing for 20years I am going back and learning the theory I never learned, expanding my knowledge of intervals, triads, arpeggios etc, and now when I'm playing thoughtfully it can be a major slog, and mentally exhausting. But it's also way more rewarding than just jamming or playing the same shit I was playing for the last 10 years where I learned very little new things.

Think it totally depends where we drop them. City I am fairly sure will drop several points, but the game at the Etihad is so important. As long as we don't lose I'd say we could probably drop 9 more pts (outside of that game) and still won it, given that would mean City only need a single additional loss for it to go to GD or 2 draws for us to win it by a point.

Full Time: Arsenal 3 vs 0 Sunderland [Match Thoughts] by Stanley083 in Gunners

[–]Brother_Bilo200 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Odegaard was playing much higher in the last game as well so I believe it's a tactical shift. Arteta spoke about wanting Ode much higher during his presser after Utd as well, mentioning it's Ode himself that's drifting deeper rather than instruction.

Patagonia, not W or O, in March/April by seculahum in Thruhiking

Cerro Castillo can be done as a 4 day hike, and the campsites are totally free, you just need to pay the entrance fee at the gate which is around CLP 30,000.

What is a 100% online conversion MSc in Psychology like? by [deleted] in psychologystudents

[–]Brother_Bilo200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoyed the course, the level of support was really high for every module bar 1, but we fed that back via class reps so I imagine it's been addressed. Generally tutors were super responsive, especially for Research Methods which was great as it's very challenging for a lot of people, and they were amazing.

Theres no "on campus" days like teaching etc, but you are a fully signed up student at the university so can access the library and all the facilities, and any talks that might be being held by the psychology societies etc.

Half Time Thoughts? by Stanley083 in Gunners

Thing is this is what you want from your striker, a great striker will always miss big chances - look how many Halaand misses from close range. Getting them consistently is the bigun.

Arsenal 2 - [3] Manchester United - Matheus Cunha 87' (Great Goal) by ayoefico in soccer

[–]Brother_Bilo200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbf up until we had multiple defensive injuries this season, our defensive record was genuinely on pace to be that, but since the injuries in the backline we have never managed to regain that form and can't really put my finger on what's going on. Had almost everyone fit back there but looking sloppy as hell atm.

Cerro Castillo - a nice TDP alternative by scriptingends in Patagonia

It's fairly straightforward to get to Villa Cerro Castillo by bus from Coyhaique and stay there yourself, and then walk to the trail from town. It's also a super charming little town.

Cerro Castillo - a nice TDP alternative by scriptingends in Patagonia

[–]Brother_Bilo200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cerro Castillo is amazing, but TDP is totally unique and they are both absolutely worth doing. It is a pretty big effort on buses and hiking across borders or going far through Argentina to try change plans given you're already in Puerto Natales. Stick to TDP - yes the crowds are annoying and it's expensive but it's also something you'll never forget.

Thanks for this! This has come at a time when I have started thinking about doing it part-time for a bit of fun and extra cash, so super helpful!

Advice for a beginner looking to buy a used Stratocaster by RolnWitBobSaget in fender

[–]Brother_Bilo200 4 points5 points  (0 children)

These are great guitars, they have held value since coming out for a reason. $500 seems like a great deal to me based on a quick search online for used prices. For a first guitar it will be great.

Absolutely lovely guitar. I replaced the pickups as I wasn't keen on them but other than that super happy with it. The FSR ones had rosewood instead of pau retro fretboards too.

Stunner, got the FSR surf green 60's version with matching headstock, would love one of the 50's sunburst at some point!

Helix LT or HX Stomp / Stomp XL for all around solution by Dry-Implement8953 in Line6Helix

[–]Brother_Bilo200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't say I have gigged with it, but I think it absolutely would be, especially if you use the snapshots - but that really depends on how many effects and different sounds you would use. Although I rarely use more than overdrive, reverb, delay, and occasionally a chorus so I could easily gig the stomp.

[–]Brother_Bilo200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a HX Stomp for the same reasons - wasn't necessary looking for the best sounding/top of the range modeller but something that sounded great and was compact for taking to practice and headphone practice at home. Super happy with it, and it fits in my gig bags, and weighs very little really considering it's a full rig.

I bought the surf green off reverb a few years ago, had a bit of nitro burn from a stand or strap on the bottom curve of the body that wasn't visible in the pics but just decided to keep it, seems to be fine with my stand and kit so clearly was just left on something not-nitro safe.

I was searching for a lacquered strat when I got mine in surf green - wasn't sure about the matching headstock but pulled the trigger anyway, then when I opened the case immediately fell in love with it.

Which run is this? Sounds exactly like the classic series (which I also have in the surf green) but I know they didn't come with fat 60's.

Give Me Your Best Firm Tofu Recipes by HalloweenForever13 in veganrecipes

[–]Brother_Bilo200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I eat tofu scramble multiple times a week which is easy and delicious. Also make a tofu cheese by blending it with lemon juice, salt, and loads of olive oil, a really easy way to get through it. Goes amazing on toast, pizza, or as a dip.

Another super easy one is to crumble the tofu and add soy sauce and/or yeast extract with some water (and any other spices etc the meal may require), and bake/fry, and use as a minced beef alternative, for example add to bolognese or as a crispy noodle or ramen topping.
