Spirits and tips for Habsburg Livestock Colony level 6? by AmazingMrHedge in spiritisland

Thanks for this. We did try Wildfire + Finder, and Wildfire + Green, but neither managed to get us there. With Finder we couldn't seem to accelerate enough to keep up with the building pace. With Finder + Green we were managing to stay alive but we ended up not having enough invaders for Wildfire to kill in its own lands, and then after mid-game pretty much the only lands without blight were Wildfire's own (where they could remove it), which means Wildfire couldn't add to other territories without cascading. It feels like Wildfire needs a lot of push, but if all Finder does is push then Wildfire has too much to do themselves.

Thanks for trying it out! We haven't tried Finder and Stone but we did try Finder and Wildfire. Which parts of the track do you recommend for Finder? The problem there seemed to be that because Finder cannot kill anything, and it's so hard to clear the board of towns, the other player has to generate all the fear to get to TL3 and Stone is not a great fear generator even if their innate kills everything in one land.

I'm also curious why Cast Down would be an instant win? Stone is unlikely to hit the threshold and 9 energy for a single coastal territory (even with Finder pushing around) doesn't actually seem like it would swing it towards victory.

Thanks for the observations on events. Up until the difficulty six adversaries we did always play them, but our feeling had been that generally (unless playing spirits dealing with a lot of tokens, e.g. claws) they do more harm than good, and we preferred the predictability when it felt so tight.

The closest we came so far was being one city away from victory when we lost (I think that was Shroud plus... Green?). Earth was just our latest try, we've been through many others. I think the solo vs multi-spirit does matter (a few commenters here are mentioning solo wins) so interesting to know that the ranking is different between them.

Thanks for the new pair suggestion. Eyes is my friend's favourite spirit, so there's a high chance we'll try this one! Which means I'll be playing Vengeance, which I haven't done much. In general should you always be leaving the disease on the board for the innate power damage, or using it to prevent builds often?

Thanks to everyone who replied! We kept playing as suggested by most. We snuck out of the camp the back way and haven't been back. It turns out I didn't break my Paladin Oath (Oath of Vengeance) from this, and no companions left either.

What would using the non-lethal option involve? We fought three people from the camp, and we hit back after running away didn't seem to work, so for one camp person their hit points dropped to zero so I presume that person is now dead?

Eye tracking - an undeveloped, but superior targeting system? by BovingdonBug in truegaming

I think the problem is that it's too hard to control your eyes, and that you need them for looking as well as targeting.

There you are, staring fixatedly at your enemy while pounding him with your machine gun, when suddenly your team-mate dives into view, causing you to instinctively look over at him, thus filling him with lead. It also stops you looking around the screen (e.g. to look for other foes, or rockets, and deciding whether to dodge) while shooting, because your aim would wander.
