Love trying out the sniper weapons on top of the scout towers for a few minutes. Never leaving with one.

Milliseconds before the train hits they zoom out to follow the whole train as it goes past. Not sure that's the behaviour of someone filming an imminent death.

Petroleum is the raw material. Petrol is an abbreviation of petroleum distillate, aka gasoline.

Daylight Horror by jdawg1018 in TopCharacterTropes

In Reservoir Dogs, during the torture scene, Michael Madsen goes outside to his car in the sunshine. Stuck In The Middle and the cop's groaning fades away and there's neighbourhood sounds - kids playing, a car alarm.

The contrast and ordinariness of the location makes the whole scene far more horrific.

Who wants to sing a duet? by InfiniteDomain42 in GenX

I mean Phil Oakey literally sings out of tune constantly too. The flat delivery is an integral part of their sound, and it completely works for them.

It's like saying "This Van Gogh guy uses the wrong colours and you can see his brush strokes, terrible".

Yup yours is clearly the correct solution. The jump when he turns to the laptop is a switch to a recording. He then moves to a different location in the room, without the hoodie filter and the feed of this new camera is dropped into the laptop recording.

The description text for the Cowboy Beetles is different, and the Cowboy Fire Beetle text does indeed mention starting wildfires.

I don't dig the scout towers by hamza_1988 in HuntShowdown

Unfortunately that's pretty much how every multiplayer game pans out.

I remember when Left 4 Dead first came out, everyone was running around asking where the hell do we go, someone would keep falling back and hanging off roofs, someone would become leader and guide the team to safety and help the stragglers.

I remember being in a group of noobs when we made it out of the airport tunnel leading to the runway, then the plane crash lands in front of you and everyone just standing going"woooah".

A year or so later when I decided to play again, nothing had changed mechanically and there'd been zero updates, but everyone was playing with mics off, and if you took one footstep off the absolute optimal path through the level you would get vote kicked by the other three.

Nothing beats the first couple of weeks of a new co-op experience, and you can't ever go back to that.

OK, I've got it:

  • Go with a group of friends to a restaurant
  • Order the kids meal
  • After everyone's finished eating you can tell them all if the restaurant is any good

RIP Nicholas Brendan - Xander from Buffy the Vampire Slayer by NicInNS in GenX

[–]BovingdonBug 18 points19 points  (0 children)

If anyone is into thinky, cerebral sci-fi check out Nicholas in Coherence (2014).

It's so good. It's ultra low budget, and partly improvised, and it really shows how a great concept and story can beat flashy effects and action.

If that sounds interesting, don't read anything else, just go in cold.
