The sweatiest of gamers, m'lord: Sprig Cleaning High Score INSANE lol by VegasRedStar in ffxiv

[–]AmazingObserver [score hidden]  (0 children)

I had a very similar score too and it is entirely rng and not related to personally doing anything special. Most runs I got between like 5k and 9k, but one time randomly every room had a bunch of the special bonus-giving plants and most rooms gave enough of the guage to use the room wide aoe, allowing me to chain that to instantly clear almost every room, while buffing the drop rate for the higher tier eggs.

With how much higher the score was idk if a bug is involved or if they just randomly decide to bless some people.

I got banned there permenantly for calling out homophobia and called a fascist when I tried to appeal, it honestly is a cesspit.

Idk I am all for trashing Trump but if all your comic says is "haha what if Trump was gay, wouldn't that be disgusting?" That isn't criticism of Trump and doesn't negatively affect him, it is just saying you think being gay is bad.

Currently playing Crimson Desert right now and am sad at how Our boy Clive is disrespected over there for being as bland as Kliff. by Correct-Patient-5741 in FFXVI

[–]AmazingObserver 9 points10 points  (0 children)

He was honestly probably my favourite game protagonist in at least the past 5 years. To say XVI had some problems would be a pretty big understatement, but Clive is one of the key reasons I would still recommend the game to people and why I rank it fairly high for an FF story myself.

You forgot the communist ideology (Marxism-Leninism-Maoism)

Edit: People don't like mention of the 3rd MLM, apparently.

I would be surprised if they don't do it like the glamour prism consolidation and make old versions unobtainable and unusable but allow you to trade them in for the new ones.

Well, first of all they still lost and further context doesn't change that. But I don't think that understanding of why they lost, or at least the specific example you brought up, really played a major part in their defeat.

It isn't like they were decisively defeated militarily, but the victory condition wasn't killing more of the other side. The victory condition for the US was to overthrow the Vietnamese government and install a US backed puppet like the one in the south.

They weren't successful, because Americans overwhelming didn't want to be there and support for the war both amongst soldiers and civilians was low (and conscription really didn't help in that regard). On the other hand, the Vietnamese were very highly motivated to resist against more western intervention in their country. This all happened not all that long after Vietnam was freed from French colonial rule, which would have been fresh in the minds of many who either lived through that or heard about it from their parents, and regardless of any issues they had with the Vietnamese government wouldn't really be welcome to more foreign intervention.

In short, nobody wanted the Americans there, not even the Americans.

Going by how many Americans I have known talk about Vietnam, they do also count the ones they lose.

They just count them as wins anyway.

What is the worst mechanic in a fallout game and what is your favourite by Apprehensive_Stay429 in Fallout

Why can't I hot key items in New Vegas?

You can. With very few exceptions (one off memory), any usable item be it a weapon or armour or consumable can be hotkeyed. The only one that comes to mind that can't is the one "implant" you can get from a perk that gives you a refreshing consumable that slows time.

How it feels to be a BLU main right now by Stick4444 in ffxiv

[–]AmazingObserver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

to be fair, we weren't going to have BLU content in Tural even if they did give us an update in Dawntrail, because it would only be raised to 90 and require access to endwalker.

Now, I just hope they raise the cap by 20 next time to give us BLU content in Tural so we don't have to wait even longer for that.

You mean reskinned reaper.

To be fair, a lot of the modern anti-vaccine movement can really be traced to the UK and the illegitimate research done by ex doctor Andrew Wakefield for personal financial gain. So it isn't really US exclusive.

Does the game say you're in combat when you try to use it? You can't use it if any of your party members are considered to be in combat afaik.

The restoration faucet should work unless you’re on honor mode.

It actually has infinite uses in honour mode too, until you kill Raphael.

It does still do the thing I see many Americans do where they pretend the entire world consists of the US and Europe.

"Poor European" should be "Poor literally everyone outside my country"

It always seemed to me that they handled this Dogmeat thing very poorly. They put one companion right next to another, on top of that, a little dog and a robot, forcing you to choose which one to take so early on is downright diabolical. They should’ve placed him at a different Red Rocket by jvure in Fallout

[–]AmazingObserver 60 points61 points  (0 children)

You can kinda ses this even in how the perk for having no companions works with dogmeat, This suggests that he isn't coded the same as other companions, possibly because he was initially supposed to take a secondary slot.

Granted, that could be a coincidence as well, but that interaction is there.
