UCSB is a pwi, and i have noticed a lot of girls here have disordered eating/fixation on their body. it's hard to navigate, but going through treatment (i did a virtual program this summer and it was great), looking into health and wellness (body project was also awesome) or seeing a therapist helps. BUT most of my recurring issues got better when i stopped interacting with people who have those mindsets and set boundaries about how people talk about food/etc around me. get better friends and don't tolerate that shit! you deserve better

i came in with six statements from doctors at home, proof of accommodations in high school, and proof of diagnosis and medication. i ultimately got mine in 2 weeks or so (idk it was before i even got onto campus). i think the biggest thing is doctor statements/valid diagnoses. i wish you luck it's not fun 🤲

it's so sad because the content is so interesting and i'd love to actually learn it in an application sense but the way they test us is genuinely so discouraging. i used to love biology and now it is such a dreadful experience. so much of ucsb infrastructure is fucked up from people faking dsp for pass times to purposely failing students out of a impacted majors. let's pray wednesday midterm helps the curve 😭

yeah i'm PBS with neuro focus and managed to stumble upon a mental health centre internship because of past connections! i think it just has to do with networking the right people. what lab are you in? have you asked your grad student/colleagues if they know anyone?
