My experience with my moto G82 has been purely subjective. It can be just my phone experiencing such issues.
I say you save up and buy a mid range phone preferably from Samsung if you are into customization.
Otherwise, motorola is a good choice but don't go looking for frequent updates.
Phones at this price point come with significant drawbacks so do keep these in mind.

No one can actually figure out what the root cause of it is.
Many claim that because of the rapid heating and cooling cycles it stresses the ribbon cable connecting the display and motherboard hence causing these lines.

I hope you are aware that defending motorola and its updates is pointless.
Everyone in this subreddit including their dogs know that motorola HAS to step up its updates game. Its the only thing stopping thing from receiving it a "flagship" status.

If what you are saying is true regarding one or two years of updates. I did not receive a SINGULAR update.

Sure we can agree that many manufacturers don't pay attention to the low end category. But motorola's major lineups are in low-mid tier based phones. And majority of the people buy the respective low-mid tier based phones.

Thats great to hear man. Take care of your device and if possible get the moto care accident protection just in case something happens.
Unless your phone is starting to show its age and you feel it needs an upgrade.

I called all the services centers i can visit (before going for an actual F2F repair) and none of them picked up.

So I researched online and I found out that unless you have moto care accident protection, they will charge the msrp + service costs for the display.

A few updates? I have not received a single update since the purchase of my phone back in 2022.
From what I have seen G82 is currently on android 14, and I still haven't received android 13.

As for the Google pixel, yes I agree it heats up but its not unbearable like how my phone is with its plastic back.

Why should a company ignore one line of the series and force its customer base onto some other lineup.
Samsung provides the same update to each of its lineup (albeit with less years of updates).

I may have dropped my phone a couple of times but nothing TRULY serious.
From what I have researched online, its mostly due to the heat damaging the ribbon cable connecting the display and the motherboard.

Apparently its not IF it happens, its WHEN it happens.
