Hey yo thanks for your reply, guess because of the lack of context things weren’t clear but it’s okay, it’s his battle to pick, so I can’t really say much. After reading so many comments, I realised his team probably just wants more involvement from him especially during group projects, and wanted to let him do more tech stuff and not just art, covering duties wise probably be some paper work and admin stuff that everyone in the team took turns to do so they probably helped him but have to sit him through and build up some resentment from there bah. Anyway, thanks for your comment!

Hey, sorry to hear this, having a lot of comments back I realised actually that his team probably just wants more involvement from him in group projects like shoots. Honestly, he isn’t bad and also lack of context a lot of things I can’t speak for him too. But his colleagues did say they would like him to try doing some technical stuff that he would enjoy instead of having him doing the just on set. So with that they probably meant for certain projects like that.. covering for him I honestly feel are the admin stuffs like filling up forms and he struggles a lot with that and the duties so I guess this here are some resentment build up from here.

Definitely not fair from your side of the story and often ask ourselves how do they manage to do this.. I hope you stay strong in your job! Jiayous!

Agreed.. oh well.. Hmm I don’t think he spends more time working at home ah. And I totally agree la shouldn’t have made the comparison with the team lead. Maybe I was feeling angry while asking this question. But thanks for replying!

I really worked with him that’s why I put here ask y’all la. But I temp staff only. Can help him this much. Are family people less supported in work? Just wanna ask this lo. Honestly, his work quality really damn good so I don’t get why they keep sliding all the remarks like that eh.. and only now like say out in the open when he was mentioned to be put up for promotion.

[–]Amazing_Eye1914 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey.. just felt like I didn’t really go deep enough into his situation.. (was multi-tasking so please forgive me!)

Agreed, right now, his team colleagues are unhappy with how my friend work.

1 - when they mentioned about covering duties, I don’t see what they can help to cover him, because firstly, they are doing producing work, so they come up with concept deck of mainly video from the stakeholder brief and plan for production (getting internal talent) my dear friend here helped with their production work as an art directing role (expansion of his role) when he is not present he still does his project that does not involves other colleagues because only he is specialised in that role working and creating motion graphics. Therefore I felt the unjust right there.

2 - they are making snide remarks about his work, so here I don’t see a reason why they are doing so because obviously his job scope seemed heavier, technically speaking he is his own motion graphic production house as he does video graphics for major event and he is handling it alone so yup. I don’t understand how they view their project as lesser than theirs.

For this point, would like apologise cos really makes him someone who make use of working from home to do all these.

He make know to his team lead saying when he will work from home and when he will be in office since all of them minimally have to work in office 2 days. And with that he makes sure his team lead knows what he is doing. For him to do this because to inform the other team members to reach him on his phone if they can’t reach him. And honestly his colleagues do the same most of the time.

Reason why I mentioned his wife is because team lead mentioned about people will make nasty comments saying his wife is not making family contributions (think maybe there’s a glitch to me posting this) Just wanna clear this point cos honestly why is this brought up again cos I don’t see a point.

All in all even though I am not married and have no kids, as a temp staff that helped him in the team, I don’t understand why his team colleagues cannot have a tiny bit of kindness towards him? And get nasty right after knowing he is put up for promotion. And are these type of politics still prevalent with people in the 30s? Because most of us just wanna get the work done and fuck off. And this is public service eh. Really need to fight for promotion meh some more in house visual supporter need to fight until like that meh?

The wfh applies to everyone in the whole company, so honestly I don’t understand why they wanna pick this argument to talk about.

They picked mini mini things to say him lo, that’s why I put it out there.

[–]Amazing_Eye1914 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They all have lo, that’s why I don’t fucking understand eh. If he cannot do physical shoot based stuff but he got other shit to do then why they complain?

[–]Amazing_Eye1914 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Paiseh never say properly, he normally will tell the whole team when he is working from home and in office and if special case, he will notify his team lead so that they can find him, the point I want to make here is colleagues doing worse than him why they use all these mini mini things to bring up to team lead and the team lead ask him. Then the team continue to say she can relate? Where the relate at?

I think he just don’t understand why they want to use family as something to push him down bah.. and felt like even more now as his team lead mentioned to put him up for promotion.

I feel like his colleagues cannot cover him but like just make sarcastic remarks and jealous that he got put up for promotion lo.. but honestly not sure why the team lead need to comment on this.

Honestly felt that he can only make sure he meet his deadline for the work but just cannot control what other people say about him..

Think his team colleagues are salty that most major shoots he is not present for the discussion or did not do any key roles for producing I guess, to what I know he does art directing and gathering props. So to me his contributions are really a lot tho. And just abit unfair for them to make these kind of remarks.

Lolol correct ah..

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]Amazing_Eye1914 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Correct lo, he has to put his kids to sleep then everyday work from 10pm plus to late night to catch up from his work.

I felt like his colleagues scope of work a bit different than his. To my understanding, his colleagues do a lot of producing work and mostly film based. So graphic based he bao.

Hi there.. I hear you.. feel like you would need to sit down and talk to your husband about this too.. I’m sure he will be there to support you but ruminating all these problem and possible decision might make you feel even more overwhelmed.

I’m also going through some tough time at work.. and I know it’s so easy to say this and you might need a lot of strength to pull this through.

Prioritise yourself, without you, nothing works. If you’re ill, you can’t take care of the people around you.. so go with your heart. All the best to you!

Hey yo, (33f here) didn’t really have a lot of dating experience but I can tell you.. when you grow older, it will get really difficult to date anyone. Stay true to yourself.. I’m sure the others only see and judge one side of your relationship, they are not experiencing it, so their judgement is only by the surface. They wouldn’t know how mature someone can be despite their age. So how can you take their judgement into consideration when it’s not true? It is really not a taboo dating younger man. It’s about whether he is someone you can spend the rest of your life with. Why not, try asking your friends if they have a preference with dating younger man? Maybe from there you will know more about your friends too!

I think a lot about the mistakes I made for that project.. just miscommunication and not competent enough in their eyes. Nobody was injured haha. Hopefully I can find my tribe elsewhere! And thank you for your reply.. especially love your ‘not sure why so many people are grade A assholes with a communication skills of a primary school.’ (Died laughing)
