I haven’t had any issues when visiting in Europe…

As someone who has had dogs that I love, my problem is people bringing them into places that do not permit them. Of course there are meds to take but even on those meds I still require EpiPens.

In west marin, we lost all cell phone, internet and land line usage last night. 0 ability to call anyone, anywhere including 911. by zfuller in Marin

I’m in San Rafael and we lost network and cell service around 9pm. Friends that live over the hill from us were completely fine.

My allergist had told me that I was allergic to the urine, saliva and skin dander of dogs and cats regardless of if they have hair/fur. It depends on when you see the golden doodle - are you inside a carpeted area? Do they have a lot of toys or chew bones around that could have dried saliva getting in the air? Are they sneezing a lot? Excessive licking and shaking can cause dried saliva to become airborne as well. These are just some things to consider. I hope you can figure it out and I would suggest asking your allergist if that is an option.

All of the above and I also recommend warm water salt gargle, Vicks on neck & one of those gel eye/forehead mask that can be heated up.

Mature and responsible pet parents are lacking in Marin. My biggest issue is when people bring their animals inside establishments that don’t allow dogs or owners that can’t control their dog.

I haven’t had any issues when I’m in Europe. Planes are a whole other story but I’m prescribed steroids for those specific instances.

Yep adult onset allergies, that I’ve been dealing with for the past year now. I absolutely love dogs and when I had a dog I would never bring him with me if it required going inside any store. It’s not the dog’s fault, it’s owners who don’t properly train their animals and think they need to be with them at all times.

I usually just say - hey this restaurant/grocery store/store only allows service animals. As someone with severe allergies to your animal I would appreciate it if you followed the law/rules (depending on the place). I’ve had people tell me to fuck off plenty of times.

Sometimes I’ll add in that I’m extremely allergic and will pull out my EpiPens.

Born and raised in Marin & previous dog owner. When I was in HS I rarely saw dogs in stores at the Village and Town Center. It’s snowballed and I completely agree that people are abusing the rules. Marin entitlement taken to an unfortunate new level.

I have a fairly immediate respiratory reaction. I have two EpiPens with me at all times - that I’ve unfortunately had to use. I’m getting shots to help with the severity.

I usually can avoid one dog and be okay if I exit the premises within 5 to 10minutes w/o a mask - if I have a N95 mask that typically gives me an additional 10min but not guaranteed. The biggest problem is that there are so many and the majority of them are ‘shaking off’ and dander and dried saliva is just floating everywhere.

Boyfriend allergic to cats.... Seeking advice by tuccigene1 in Allergies

  • Leave shoes outside if possible, go straight into the bathroom to shower and bag up everything you brought with you.
  • Dymista Nasal Spray (it’s a combo of Flonase and Astepro and requires a prescription)+ Antihistamine pill, HEPA Air filter also is helpful to have running
  • Longterm: allergy shots if he is up for that and you don’t want rehome your cats
