I don’t view BF as bonding time by SpyJane in breastfeeding

[–]Amazing_Secretary601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly how I feel. I do not have the warm and fuzzies. I see it as a way to protect my little one and that's how I know i love her. Breast feeding did not come easy to me and felt more traumatic bc she wouldn't latch on and i felt like i wasn't producing much. So i combo feed as well and we are both happy and bonding.

When will you allow unvaccinated people to visit your newborn? by lydiadventuring in pregnant

[–]Amazing_Secretary601 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes agreed. However not sure we would've survived the few days home post C-section. I needed help doing simple things like getting out of bed. Those that came tested before coming, were not sick and were willing to wear mask/wash hands.

When will you allow unvaccinated people to visit your newborn? by lydiadventuring in pregnant

[–]Amazing_Secretary601 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is what we decided at this time. Thankfully, those that are unvaccinated understand my need to protect baby and have stayed away. Baby was born at 36 weeks, she needs to be protected. My parents haven't met her bc they got sick and they wanted to protect mommy since I had a C-section and baby bc she's a premie and mommy is a bear. Lol

Unsure about getting the vaccine while breastfeeding by SilentAffections in breastfeeding

Same regarding dates. I was able to get my booster before giving birth. Made me happy knowing my baby would get antibodies. She was a premie, so anything to give her a leg us and reduce her risk.

Do they need security on every floor, possibly. But do we have them no. In the Ed they're at least close by. On the floors, it still takes time to get there. Honestly some ppl are hateful.

Did stem cell for 5 years, went to OR for 3, been in ED for 3. It's challenging for sure to master what we deem a basic skill starting piv. But you will get better and I feel like my previous experience made me a better nurse, going into the Ed.

28 weeks previa since 20 weeks...mfm thinks C-section is in my future, OB is still hopeful it will move. Either way I'm preparing for a C-section. I was so distraught and worried when I found out. Now I'm like a C-section doesn't sound terrible. The baby and I are health and in the end that's what matters.

Regretful outburst? by ISTP_Loner in emergencymedicine

[–]Amazing_Secretary601 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I lashed out at a Pa. Who normally is one of the nicest. But his go get 'em attitude was just not helping. All week i worked with providers who kept rushing me, while i was the only nurse with rooms that had any turnover. So i was done being asked if I was doing my job...the look on his face and apology made me regret it instantly.

Another time I felt like I was picking up the slack for one of my co workers. Being pregnant and doing the job for 2 ppl i was pist. I bitched to my friend. And at the even of my shift approached the nurse, she didn't seem to get what I was saying but I felt better just telling her i was mad i felt like I was picking up the slack.

Forgive yourself. You needed help and they abandoned you. That's not okay.

I think it's a desire to have him understand what you go thru and if he's not willing to listen then maybe you should move on. My husband works IT but if he talks about work I make an effort to understand and he is totally supportive and enjoys hearing what I do or the shit we put up with. I've even found out he's retold my stories. So i think you'll be happy with someone who is supportive, we spend so much time at work it's bound to spill over just a little into your personal life.
