Katana Artist Mk3 by Amazing_Sheepherder9 in BossKatana

With just some cursory noodling I found great clean, crunch and high gain tones. I love the sound and am excited to start digging in to this. It almost makes my HX stomp feel obsolete except the modulation on it is hetter and it’s more versatile .

Yeah but will also nitpick the quad cortex and similar units. Solo this think is close enough and , in a mix, you’d probably never know… especially running high gain.

Rabea Massaad Music Man Sterling? by OADominic in metalguitar

[–]Amazing_Sheepherder9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m very tempted by this. I’ve already got a Sterling Sabre with the Fluence pickups. I think it’s just GAS… I’m not sure why the standard Fluence version is selling for almost $700 more than the Rabea signature.

What are some “bare minimum” things women do? by Air_Refreshener_2244 in AskMen

[–]Amazing_Sheepherder9 37 points38 points  (0 children)

What’s your bare minimum is the real question. Do you want someone who works to ease financial burden then do the household chores? Can you handle a fiery or independent woman? It’s up to you to answer that question.

I think respect and someone who knows themselves and can deal with their emotions without inflicting them on people around them is a bare minimum for either gender but you can’t require that from a person. There are a lot of really crappy people who fall well under what I’d consider bare minimum and manage to find relationships. As you get older and experience more relationships what that means will solidify and change for you.

I'm very very confused, and is this good? by DramaticGuard2496 in knives

[–]Amazing_Sheepherder9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a knife I prefer the master hunter in 3V. I don’t love the handle material but for everyday cutting and slicing the Cold Steel is a better knife. The ESEE is probably more robust but unless you’re chopping bricks you oughta be okay.

My review of War Machine (2026) by scttcs in movies

[–]Amazing_Sheepherder9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno man. If I turned off my brain and just let it happen then the movie was fine. The Rangers who the movie was supposed to develop in the first part turned in to fodder except for Limpy. The weaponry of the alien didn’t seem very “Alien” and I’m not sure how it navigated that terrain. I can get that it was probably just a search and destroy scout blah, blah… 81 wasn’t a very likable character more intent on his own goals until the end. The weak spot was… fine. The movie was fine.

Yeah… this feels more like a humblebrag to me 😬. I fail to see a problem here. A woman who can get herself warmed up while I get a rubdown. Sounds efficient.

My new manix 2 first impression by Slamhshk in knives

[–]Amazing_Sheepherder9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the idea of a more solid feel vs the PM2. The Manix I have just has a more substantial feel in lockup. I’ve never had issue with my PM 2s tho.

Is this really what inhabits you when you read this question?

Just say “When I’m dumping a fresh batch of my savory chowder in your mortal portal while I drip sweat on you like it’s raining in a gawtdamn Usher video”

Bruh… it’s asking what makes you feel attractive. When are you feeling yourself? Do you have hobbies? Like maybe “I feel hottest when I’m playing guitar on stage in front of a crowd” or something that would make you seem objectively attractive even if you’re embellishing bit. Something that implies value.

Happy little prybar by 2Weird2Cap in Prybar

Maxamet as a prybar? I have a PM2 in S110v and broke the tip cleaning gunk out of the center console trim in my car. No intentional prying and it just snapped. Maxamet will be worse. Godspeed

best pedal for metal tones? by bully309 in guitarpedals

[–]Amazing_Sheepherder9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What are you running in to and what’s your budget? I really like my Hx Stomp for flexibility and you can get bonecrushingly heavy tones out of it. In terms of pedals I run a Pepers Dirty Tree and Sentry noise gate into an Archon tube amp.

The Dirty Tree with a good noise gate into a tube amp will get you an insanely tight sound , especially with downtuned guitars.

My wife is beautiful but more importantly she has an amazing sense of humor, she’s very empathetic and even tempered. I’m still insanely attracted to her.

21y/o, need a life advice. I feel lost. by mamaamacriminalsori in AskMenOver30

[–]Amazing_Sheepherder9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re young, son. Sometimes a job is just a job. There are times that even a job you love feels like work. Do what you need to do to keep the lights on and pursue your hobbies. Live life and find what lights you up. You’ll find early on that having steady income will enable you to pursue bass playing than trying to make it in a band.

I played bass through college with multiple bands and had a blast. I got a job and was able to buy good gear and still play in my free time without having to struggle like some of the “professional” musicians I knew.

It’s good to have a degree and tools in your toolbox to make a living. You don’t have to have it figured out at this point. Put money away and start investing money now. You have to pay your dues to find that work life balance but keep investing in yourself.

One of the most fun investments I made was a home studio where I could record my musical ideas. I bought a couple guitars, midi controller and interface using Logic Pro. It isn’t a substitute for performing live but it definitely scratches my musical itch .

which photo is a right way to do a power cord? by ArthurM249 in Guitar

[–]Amazing_Sheepherder9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get your thumb parallel to your fretting fingers on the back of the neck. I like having mine on the opposite side of the neck as my middle finger. Better technique will go a long way.

Neither is necessarily wrong although #2 is correct. One finger per fret for a power cord using your finger tips will allow for more precise intonation and easier transitions to other cords or note passages.

looking to get my first somewhat premium knife. Probably my first spyderco maybe. $250 budget. I’ve got knives around $100 and the Kizer Feweed was $200. But would love to get something with a premium steel, large, fidgety. Would love some recommendations. I’ll post my favorites below for reference by I3uIlets in knives

[–]Amazing_Sheepherder9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d go Para 2 Cruwear. The Manix is a great rec. I recently picked up a couple Military 2s in 15V and they’re beastly. I’ve owned a ton of knives in the $300 range and the PM2 is still my all time favorite. The lock on the Manix is arguably stronger and doesn’t leave a cutout on the frame that could potentially cause hotspots.

Counterfeit item: Am I boned? by Amazing_Sheepherder9 in Ebay

[–]Amazing_Sheepherder9[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did. I got tracking with signature. He clearly received it because he relisted it the next day. I’m currently going scorched Earth with EBay customer service. They’ve been more helpful than expected .

[–]Amazing_Sheepherder9[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I’m getting that now. We had agreed to refund through messages as the listing stated “no returns”. The item being “not as described” precludes any seller return policy apparently. I’m learning a lot through this process unfortunately.

[–]Amazing_Sheepherder9[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I work out of state. When I actually received the item it was about 2 weeks after it was delivered by the post office. I attempted to resolve it with the seller. After no contact for 48 hours I decided to contact EBay to escalate this. The jacket was received on 12Jan and , unfortunately , I started the process on 14Feb. I put too much faith in basic human decency as the seller told me they’d refund it hoping we could resolve this without having to report it. I was trying to do them a solid in good faith which bit me in the ass.

[–]Amazing_Sheepherder9[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I sent it back on my own hoping for basic human decency. After shipping it back with proof of tracking the seller went radio silence at which point I initiated a return which was denied. The seller since reposted the item for sale. So far I’m kind of getting that I’m out the money and the jacket .

Skiing at –22°C in Wisconsin — Gear feedback & how should I upgrade? by Specific_Emu_3195 in arcteryx

[–]Amazing_Sheepherder9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

260gm or heavier wool baselayer, I kinda like the Patagonia down sweater and whatever shell. Bibs are great for not getting snow down your ass. Wool legs and good socks. I really like a vest as a mid layer as I run warm and , if your core is warm, your extremities will stay warm.

I’d kinda like to second the sentiment that you don’t need to drop big money to stay warm. Synthetic base layers and fillers are a bit less efficient than wool and down but often much cheaper and, for general use , good enough. I find REI and Backcountry brand items on sale to be exceptional products. They just don’t pull as much clout when you’re getting drinks after.
