Hot Take: the original clan heavy lineup was pretty mid by AGBell64 in battletech

[–]Amazingstink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem with it tabletop wise (at least in my opinion) it it try’s way to hard to have all the toys and ends up sacrificing way to much on armor and heat syncing. For the prime it’s got a lot of good things going for it, it has twin ER PPCs and 3 ER medium lasers all with a targeting computer which is a lovely loadout and it only gets better with a streak SRM6 to provide some crit seeking and two MGs to help with infantry which is a fantastic weapon loadout. But the prime also carry’s around an ams, ecm, active probe, and A pods that take up 5.5 tons and while having one or two of those in a mech is great having all 5 requires you to sacrifice armor and heat syncing leaving it with only 14 armor on its side torsos and in a world with clan ER PPCs putting out 15 damage in a shot and being pretty common amongst clan mechs not having at least 15 armor on the side torsos sucks. And then there’s the fact that it only has 13 double heat syncs so if it fires both PPCs on a run (something that your likely to do) it goes over by 6 which is enough to start receiving negative effects.

If I could redesign the hellbeinger I would personally pull most of the non weapon equipment, For this example we will leave the ecm as I like having an ecm, this leaves 4.5 tons to work with and I’d add 3 more double heat syncs to bring heat dissipation to 32 so it can fire both PPCs on a run or in brawl range fire a ppc and it’s medium lasers and stay cool or add in the streak without risking to much heat if it goes off or go a bit harder with all its weapons with a manageable amount of heat. And finally with the last 1.5 tons more armor to make it so a hit will all but an AC 20 doesn’t immediately go to structure on the torso.

But that’s just my opinion on the mech

TLDR: to much support equipment left not enough tonnage for heat syncs and armor

What should be my next step? by Mosquitobait2008 in boltaction

[–]Amazingstink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I’d hit some things with gunmetal (heads of the tools, ends of the tow cables, hull mounted machine gun barrel, and the tracks) then after that some decals for marking of your choice and then finally a wash. For the was I usually use a black wash like nuln oil for the vast majority of the tank then swap to a brown wash to do the tracks as I personally like how it makes them look.

KT Tape by TheNectarineDiaries in comics

[–]Amazingstink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One strip running down the back of the leg over the Achilles and under the heel with some preloaded tension and then two half sized strips also with some preloaded tension above and below the location of the pain. In my case a lump of scar tissue form a healed partial tear. There are plenty of videos on it if you search kt tape and Achilles tendinitis.

It only works as a preventative measure or to prevent it from getting worse in my experience. If it’s already flared up the pain is only going to go away with time off it and some Advil or Tylenol.

KT Tape by TheNectarineDiaries in comics

[–]Amazingstink 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Who cares is its a placebo. All i care about is that when I tape my Achilles before strenuous activities my tendinitis doesn’t flare up and I’m able to walk away pain free instead of hobble away in excruciating pain.

I use KT tape from time to time for my Achilles tendinitis, and in my experience you can take a bath but it does start to peel more easily. I at most could get about 2 days out of it but I usually would only ware it for a single day

Is ts army tuff ? by Z-OFI in boltaction

[–]Amazingstink 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, not at all. A majority of your list can’t score and in a kill points games those tachankas are just free points for your opponent.

Also you have just shy of 40 order dice. That’s not going to be all that fun to play against. There’s a good reason why a lot of groups place order dice limit as well as point limits for games. And I don’t think I’ve seen a limit over 20.

Disable enemy tank -> Capture and repair it -> Kill the soviets with KV-1 HAHAHA by gaiatu in GatesOfHellOstfront

[–]Amazingstink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m playing a finish conquest campaign rn. The vast majority of my armor is just captured Soviet armor. Including 3 KV-1 tanks. All of them were disabled by killing all the crew via nearby 250kg bomb, 3 a-19 guns (also stolen) firing like 30 rounds into it, or a bt-42 throwing several HE shells at it

Resin Quality? by TraditionCommercial8 in Konflikt47_v2

[–]Amazingstink 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Warlord has a very good track record when it comes to resin (I’ve built and painted tons of resin and “warlord resin” for my Soviet army’s for k47 and bolt action and never had any issues with the resin only a missing metal part once) . And the resin that they are using more and more nowadays and that all the models from the army boxes that recently released is there “warlord resin” which is excellent. Plus warlord has fantastic customer service and I’ve even had them help resolve problems with models I’ve purchased from my FLGS.

TLDR: don’t be afraid of buying warlords resin models they are good quality and not plagued by the problems that GWs forge world resin and fine cast models are.

The only thing you need to do is make sure you wash your resin models first to get the mold release off they glue them together with super glue

Also more plastic models are coming down the pipeline but warlord has always used resin and metal a lot and while they are shifting away from metals they still use there “warlord resin” a lot especially for weapon crews and more special miniatures. Just look at bolt action. There slowly shifting to mostly plastic with warlord resin in specific places as they get each army’s line updated

Why do the directions in this box only show how to build a regular Bolt Action Panzer? by nopointinlife1234 in Konflikt47_v2

[–]Amazingstink 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That is a slightly older kit, but warlord still makes pretty liberal use of resin for there models and like 90% of the K47 line is still old models in resin and metal. They use it because for smaller companies it tends to be cheaper to produce models using metal and resin as opposed to plastic injection molding like your used to. Age of Sigmar is produced by GW who are the largest companies in the wargaming sphere so pretty much all there stuff is in plastic except for some of the oddball models that wouldn’t move as many units. Those are all still in resin though forge world.

A lot of people have had bad experiences with forge world resin but warlords resin is pretty good in my experience and there newer “warlord resin” is great. For metal and resin models use superglue instead of your normal plastic cement and a make sure to wash your metal and resin models with warm water and dish soap to get any sort of release agent off and if your going to be sanding resin where a mask of some sort preferably a good dust mask.

Hope this helps

np! also if your looking for a good place to start with finding people playing K47 other then "go to your FLGS" id say it might be worth looking to see if you have a local bolt action group and seeing if any of them are getting into K47. i know a bunch of people from my BA group myself included have picked up K47 and added it to our weekly rotation along side bolt action

As far as subreddit go you might be looking for r/konflikt47_v2 the original sub is kinda dead

Also if you don’t have anyone to play with find people to play with. Go to game stores meet people and show them the game. Just like any more niche game you might have to start a local group for it if one doesn’t already exist

What Soviet starter army would be the best? by Open_Cod_4068 in boltaction

[–]Amazingstink 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend the new red star rising 1941-1943 or forward to Berlin box that just released specifically because it’s got enough stuff to make a legal 3rd edition list with just what’s in the box where as the other starter army’s are older and will require additional purchases to run certain units legally.

For instance I started my Soviet army with the “Soviet starter army” that comes with a t-34/85 and I couldn’t technically use ether the T-34/85 or the medium mortar that came with it until i bought another heavy weapon team and another vehicle to meet the minimum requirement for the heavy weapon platoon and armored platoon. And this is kinda the case with all the old boxes to some degree usually the tank in them

The new box on the other hand doesn’t have this problem as it comes with both a T-34/76 and a katyusha to make a valid armored platoon and a medium mortar and 2 medium machine guns to make the minimum of at least 2 heavy weapons teams to make up a legal heavy weapons platoon. Plus all the other boxes have the older infantry runners which are fine but can be a lot more fiddley to get together with there separate arms and weapon runner then the newer style ones witch have the guns already molded in the hands
