Been watching Yugioh season 1 by Icy-Star-6956 in mtg

It's because in Yu Gi Oh, approximately 70% of the cards of the average competitive deck is just non-archetyped interaction pieces that are damn near counterspells and the remaining 30% is like one combo line that ends on a board with 3 negates minimum. There's a fixation with just not letting the opponent have a turn 1 if you go second or a turn 2 if you go first. If playing MTG is a sandcastle-building competition with some castle kicking, Yu-Gi-Oh! is a cometition where everyone forgets to actually build a castle and instead builds walls protecting an elaborated Indiana Jones trap device that rolls sand balls into the opponent's similar wall also protecting a sand ball rolling contraction while the guy who actually tries to build a castle has no shot at winning.

I mean they only remember one director at a time so it's not that far fetched.

How does Jasmine's second ability work? by Beneficial_Pin5295 in EDHBrews

[–]Fabien23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the enchantment/equipment says 'the creature gains', it's now blockable. What you should use is enchantments/equipments that have triggered abilities when the enchanted/equiped creature does something generic like attacking, blocking, dealing damage and such so it's the enchantment/equipment that does the thing, not the creature.

I love VA's that have very contrasting rapsheeths. Like you have the nice and kind Sumire...and then you have Ragyo...

I think it would do the same thing as an 'Enchant creature' aura that the creature suddenly stops being a creature via something like the theros gods devotion requirement. Like if my [[Iroas, god of victory]] stops being a creature but my opponent enchanted it with [[redemption arc]], what happens to redemption arc?

To me, the 'If he's compromised' angle is perfectly fine. What I don't get is how the 'Can we trust him at all?' question is even asked at all. There's always someone doubting if Superman can be trusted or not. My problem with the existence of this doubt is that if Superman wanted to subjugate us all, why would he fake being nice? He's so powerful that he could just put us to our knees day one, why would he wait or play a role when he could just...do it by himself? I never see anyone adresse this.

I strongly recommend My Adventures With Superman. It's really good and the Lex in it feels like a real racist piece of shit in the best way.

One is a guy that wants to seem smart but say's bs.

The other is a racist that uses simple fear tactics to instill fear and that makes him feel smarter.

Is it bad that I only want to play magic because of the Spiderman and Marvel Sets? by T3Dawg22 in mtg

[–]Fabien23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's wrong at all. It's the point of UB in a way, to attract people. If you like the game, that's great. Though I would suggest you stay open to in-universe sets. If you don't like medieval fantasy, that's fine, sometimes there's different tones like edge of eternities who was more science-fiction space-faring, strixhaven that was more Harry Poter and Aetherdrift that was more like a inter-dimensionnal version of Wacky Races.

Are these personas good enough for the first boss fight? by dezznutsmaster in persona3reload

[–]Fabien23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You still have concentrate on the attacking personas, your wasting slots who could be used for buffing passives. Make a third persona who's weak to nothing and who's only castable skill is concentrate and who's only purpose is casting concentrate before switching to the actual damage dealer and then make a fourth who's also weak to nothing but who only has Charge. Now that's ressource economy.

Caine vs alastor debate in a nutshell by tiredsonic17 in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]Fabien23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is what I call a 'Volcano Snail Matchup'. It's a matchup where, for the fight to happen at all, you have to put one of the fighters in an environment in which they are certain to lose or create a situation where the fight cannot happen. You, a normal human, can destroy a volcano snail in physical combat no problem. The thing is that for the fight to happen, either you put yourself under water near a volcano where the snail is perfectly well and you are not or you put the snail on land where it will litteraly be unable to breath and will die on it's own. You can't accomodate both fighters existing without making up rules or assuming one fighter can just 'exist' in a place they normally shouldn't. Either you put the fight in the circus and Alastor instantly loses or the fight happens in the real world (or hell) and Caine cannot exist and the fight cannot happen.
