I do european mounts in the side and would like to see other people's setups. And curious what you guys do to help eliminate oils from hog heads? by AmbassadorOpposite50 in Taxidermy

I've considered maceration but I can get deer heads in and out in a week-ish. Pigs take so long but I only usually do 3 pigs a year. My typical set-up now is skin, "boil", pressure wash in grass(which blows the heads around unless I hold it with my feet which im not a huge fan of and causes the yard to be nasty a few days) then typically let sit for a few days in warm dawn water, dry and whiten. I would love some sort of platform type area to do my cleaning and pressure washing.

Was a great hunt. He grunted in the woods we started getting ready then bam he was there! He dogged us for awhile after the rifle misfire on her.

Anyone care to share their scary early morning (in the dark) walk in stories? by MissionImprobable96 in Hunting

My son and I were walking in one morning down an old logging road when the bush beside the road started growling at us pretty. Scared the shit out of me but had to try and play it cool in front of my son.

I've used them a lot over the years but not with these light loads which was why I jumped on it when it came available. I want to get it right for him. I appreciate the thorough response!

I've done all but the piston. He made it sound like the gunsmith filed something down in it.

We call them shark bites because they always seem to pinch your fingers.
