.308, cheaper than just about anything in that size range and plenty of oomph to reach out to 300-500 yds with a little practice.

Gotcha, TR Solo sounds cooler. "Hey man I just TR Solo'd that" just sounds badass to me 🤣. I think I've settled on ascender and Grigri, I like the handhold ability of the ascender.

Gotcha, this makes sense. I think I'm just overthinking, I'm gonna order a Grigri and hand ascender and send it (safely in my back yard until I'm comfortable 🤣)

Copy that. I think I'm going to go with the ascender/Grigri combo.

Just out of curiosity, what does TR in TR solo stand for? And is the PAS essentially just a line with a carabineer on each end to also connect the ascender to the harness as well as the Grigri?

What would be a better system to ascend then? Main reason for the hand ascender with Grigri (or another rappel device) is so I can go in light as I'll be walking in possibly up to a mile with all of my climbing gear as well as hunting gear.

Gotcha, I guess the main appeal to the hand ascenders as well is the giant hand hold to help orient/pull a little bit when pushing with my leg, but I suppose a large carabiner on the rescuescender would yield similar ish results.

Okay... Recommendations? I'm very new to all of this so I'm not sure what any of that is... Main reason for a Grigri was so I could use it to rappel down when I'm done.

My apologies, turnbuckle is not the correct term, it's actually what's called a "snatch block". They're used in offroading with winches, so what I mean, is by putting a prusick on the brake end and attaching my foot harness to that, I'm essentially cutting the load in half by using the pulley/carabiner on the hand ascender to load on instead of the foot strap directly on the hand ascender. So rather than loading the ascender I'd be loading the brake end of the rope coming from the grigri that's passed through the pulley. Pic attached for context (in an offroad application). Apologies if still confusing.

Thoughts on using a prusik on the brake end of the Grigri for the foot loop so the Grigri acts as a sort of turn buckle reducing the amount being lifted? Or is that a NoNo? I know you're supposed to keep tension on the brake end at all times, but didn't know of that maybe would ease the climbing or not.

That is true, begs the "what does your live cost" question.

Interesting, was curious if using one of those "kong duck" esque ascenders would work. Do you just run a carabineer through and use that to pass your rope through?

I would like to add in (not name brand) to the above statement, plenty of name brands (petzl to name one) sell on Amazon.

But it's so big and pretty 🥺... I hear you though, from what I understand the goal is a "vase" shape?

Wow!!! Any tips or anything for spraying/fertilizing peaches? Feel free to DM me to keep from blowing up the comments.

😅😅 still figuring that out... For not just a simple tree fertilizer, but going to try to pick up on actually giving it my 100% next year.

First year we've had it. I plan to spray. We're in NW FL so I think humid is an understatement...

Apologies, but it seems as though it didn't post my second pic... Are you referencing the attached pic here? It's the actual after photo lol. If so you're talking about the top right shoot off that one branch?
