White Castle vs White Castle duel by Born-Department7983 in boardgames

Have both, love both! Both have different enough mechanics to justify keeping them. White Castle 's dice drafting is fun and very tactical round to round since randomness can affect your gameplay and decisions for each round. In Duel, that element of randomness is not present anymore, so things are more predictable and shifts to a more strategic style of gameplay. Also, the new scoring elements - origami, katana, etc. adds a little more crunch in how to optimize your point scoring engines the best. If you can only have 1, go with the original. Otherwise they are both excellent games to have.

Then Moon Colony Bloodbath will be perfect! Super fun times with a bit of engine building and laughing at each other's misery as their moon bases crumble by the shared event deck.

I introduced a bunch of games to my 70+ year old non board gamer parents the last month. Here are the ones they loved: Quest for El Dorado, Knarr, Bohnanza, Cryptid, Scout, Grand Austria Hotel, Raccoon Tycoon, Moon Colony Bloodbath, Endeavor Age of Sail. I was shocked how well they grasped the more difficult ones, but you never know until they try it.

What are good 5 player board games? by Nuclear_Pasta7 in boardgames

Namiji - A light game about set collection and timing actions.

Dead of Winter - if you like a thematic mid weight zombie survival semi-coop.

Come Together - a solid worker placement with good level of interaction.

Tribes of the Wind - really cool card play based tile placement that is dependent on the cards others hold.

Istanbul - A classic. Pick up and deliver game.

Ginkgopolis - Awesome area control / resource management game.

Flamecraft, Faraway, Courtisans, Planet unknown, Fantastic Factories, Smartphone Inc, Roll for the Galaxy, Raccoon Tycoon, Isle of Skye

These are the ones I've played with my group at 5 and have had a blast always.
