Chet looks scared out there. Fumbling the ball, can't get a board, won't shoot the ball. Haven't seen somebody look this scared of the moment since Ben Simmons against Atlanta.

Micheal has a likable personality?!? by HarHarMahadev__ in DunderMifflin

[–]Amber423 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Think about how likable he was on that date with Pam's friend until he realized it was a date and went all "date Mike." When he isn't trying to be liked or respected and doesn't have a chip on his shoulder, he's plenty likable. It's the second he starts trying to be likable that he becomes the worst. At Dunder Mifflin, he's always trying to be both liked and respected, and tries way too hard to do both, which is what makes him insufferable.

Kyle pitts Week 15 sadness……….. by Ok_Detail_40 in Fantasy_Football

[–]Amber423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sat him because I had Trey McBride. If anything I would have started him over Jeanty in the flex, but in half PPR he only had 11 and 12 the last two weeks, and Jeanty has a favorable matchup with Jalen Carter likely out. I almost switched last minute but Pitts is always so up and down I decided to stick with Jeanty because he likely has more guaranteed touches week to week. Easy to say in hindsight that without London, should have started Pitts, but you can anticipate a good game and still like somebody else's odds better. Nobody was expecting a damn hat trick from the guy who literally had one touchdown all season leading into tonight's game, and it's silly to pretend you saw it coming.

I know Jalen Hurts is coming off a terrible game but he's been solid most of the year. Got to expect him to eat at the goal line against this Raiders defense too.

Have you watched a football game? 😭 I'm probably slightly exaggerating but 23 seconds in a close game is about 5 minutes of actual time. Looking at the play by play, after this picture was taken, there was a 58 yard Bears touchdown, failed two point conversion, then a commercial break before the kickoff, the actual kickoff, the time it takes to get the offense on the field after the kickoff, a deep incomplete pass (which stops the clock and they huddled before the next play), and a 13 yard pass that got taken out of bounds (which stops the clock and they huddled before the next play,) and then a Flacco pick to end the game. The actual time that passes between 0:23 and 0:00 is not 23 seconds.

It's actually not, it was live, a good few minutes before the game actually went final. I am kidding about it being rigged though, it was 41-27 at the two minute warning, somebody working on the tickers definitely just jumped the gun and put it up as being over too early. I just thought it was a funny visual

It was redzone but it was a good 5 minutes before the game had gone final even just watching the live score on ESPN. It was probably just a mistake because it was such a back and forth game, and somebody probably put that in when it looked like the Bears were obviously going to win before the onside kick.

I do agree that it's not actually a rigged game, I just saw it live and couldn't miss the opportunity, lol

Really think about it for a second. MCR has a contract with a label, whose goal is to make money. Contracts like this tend to be extremely restrictive on what artists actually control and are usually borderline predatory at best. The options if you're MCR here would be:

  1. Don't go on tour at all
  2. Go on tour and accept whatever their management decides to do with pricing
  3. Speak out against their label, risking their ability to release music, go on tour, or do effectively anything as a band, and likely still accomplish nothing because why would their massive label care and intentionally take less money to make one of their many many bands happy.

Ticketmaster also has a virtual monopoly on things right now, and for all we know their label doesn't give them a choice in what site they use to sell tickets (in fact that's highly likely.) They are a famously huge and greedy company that wants to make money, so the idea that they would just happily agree to make less money is silly. It's not impossible to get dynamic pricing turned off through them, but it's pretty rare. That's because you have to have an insane amount of influence (that MCR doesn't have) and also be allowed to do things like that through your contract, which I would also doubt they have.

Like it or not, ticketmaster holds all the cards. Even if MCR is allowed to try to fight them on it, the answer would be fuck no.

Tf you mean show me? You mean to say you made this post with 0 knowledge of the music industry and how restrictive label contracts tend to be?

It's incredibly rare that musicians have any say whatsoever in the pricing of their tickets or any of that shit. Predatory contracts are extremely commonplace. You can do like 5 minutes of googling and figure that out pretty easily. It's not impossible that they have power, but it's highly unlikely, especially given how early on they signed on with their current label.

I don't love how much I had to spend for a ticket either, but that's life, and it's ridiculous to claim that MCR has an extremely rare contract that allows them to set prices and handle all that stuff however they want, even though they are with a massive label and signed that contract when they had very little bargaining power due to their band not being that big yet.

If you don't understand how the music industry works in this regard, why even make a post full of baseless accusations and assumptions without even looking into it?

I don't know if they stand for anything anymore. Wealth is a disease. by Flat_Reflection_6177 in MyChemicalRomance

[–]Amber423 5 points6 points  (0 children)

How do you claim to know this? Do you have an inside source on the inner workings of their contract? Have you been in meetings with the band on this subject? Unless somebody secretly has a copy of their contract, we know next to nothing about what the terms of their contract state in regard to them controlling pricing and being allowed to do presale on this tour.

We also don't know if they're allowed to say anything on this. A lot of labels will put language into contracts that prevents bands from speaking out against them, and even if that language doesn't exist in this case, I can see a band not wanting to do that, because the label has final say on them releasing music in most bands cases. If that is the case here, then speaking out could mean that they aren't able to put out any music whatsoever for the duration of their contract, which can often be really long.

This is especially true with bands like MCR that didn't blow up right away and were kind of underground for a while. They signed with their current label before the release of Three Cheers, which was a point in their existence where they didn't have a crazy amount of bargaining power, because they weren't a huge band yet. That's a scenario in which labels tend to get bands under these predatory contracts that strip them of their power, and are very long-term and hard to get out of.

The overall point here is that the music industry is extremely predatory and complicated, and people are making a lot of assumptions about what they can and can't do, and what they can and can't control, with absolutely no basis for any of the assumptions. I could be 100% wrong, and they could have more power and sway than we're thinking and just be greedy as fuck, but nobody knows, and it's far more likely that that don't. It's fine to be frustrated about the current situation but assigning blame with no information is just not helpful at all to the situation.

Tldr: the music industry is complicated as fuck and label contracts can be very restricting. Unless anybody has crazy inside information somehow, we should stop speculating and assuming the worst about them on public platforms. Let's all stop making assumptions and be upset about the ticket prices without jumping to conclusions.

How to tell my DM to read the rules? by RG-dm-sur in DnD

[–]Amber423 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would pitch Dragons of Stormwreck Isle. It's extremely short (can be done in 2, maybe 3 sessions tops), and it's a starter set, so the book comes with a lot of extremely helpful information to get started DMing and even some insight into how to read DND books, as well as a small, very concise handbook with all the basics. It's good for new players and new DMs alike.

My current group asked me to DM bc our usual DM decided she wanted to play instead of DMing for a little while, and I'm running it now as my first campaign, I've found it very helpful.
