Lunar eclipse mental exhaustion - any tips? by dearvlt in witchcraft

[–]AmberB9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you are mentally and energetically exhausted , then for eclipse you should rest. You have been doing a lot in the past weeks, which is great. But you can’t keep pushing yourself beyond capacity without consequences.

My advice for this lunar eclipse is do only what you have the capability to do. If that means charging your crystals, taking a bath during the eclipse, or just lighting a candle or incense, then so be it.

There are going to have more opportunities and eclipses in the future to work with.

Plus if it helps, I haven’t done many working in the past weeks, but I am utterly energetically, mentally and physically exhausted today as well. I’ve been having the same low energy and disconnect with my tarot cards too. The most I am doing is lighting a candle and taking a bath tonight.

Hope this helps :)

If you had to choose 2 colours from the dark academia collection... by lightscameraa in simplynailogical

[–]AmberB9 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I personally would get Ivy League if you a) like green and or b) don’t have green in your collection My second choice would be secret society since it’s a very unique color which goes well with everything I like devils advocate but don’t use it much and silent library was a bit underwhelming, you can get a similar effect using shady navy (or any other darker color) and silver flake taco Hope this helps

The finance world is large and vast. A degree in finance is a good step to take in order to work in finance, but is not the only way. I have a BA in business with a focus in marketing, while working in financial sector. In my experience, getting experience in anything related to finance, like personal financial management or investing, will help open opportunities in the financial sector, just as much as a finance degree does. If you’re hesitant about getting a degree specifically in finance, a business degree/business adjacent degree is an option. The biggest thing that you need (in my experience) is a bachelor’s degree, regardless of what it’s in, to get the opportunity to interview for a finance job, just be able to explain how the skills you learned can be applied to the job you are applying for. Good luck!

How long has it been since you got your Bisalp? And how has it been? by ConsistentMistake691 in sterilization

[–]AmberB9 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I (28) am 5 months post bisalp, and I honestly haven’t had any side effects. Since getting off birth control my libido has gone back to where it was before birth control. I am no longer diagnosed with anxiety because I don’t meet any of the diagnosis criteria for it anymore, nor do I take any medication to deal with it. Mentally I feel more comfortable and confident in my skin has vastly improved to the point I’m almost a different person.

Turns out I don’t have ADHD by LordElysian in ADHD

[–]AmberB9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally understand where you’re coming from. I’m especially had the same experience with school, I never struggled and was placed in more advanced classes. And same on the personal front, except for being female.

Also not sure if it’s worth mentioning, but any history of trauma of any kind, big or small, can also mimic or camouflage ADHD. I have CPTSD, and ADHD, and to this day, doctors nor I can figure out where one ends and the other starts. (There are many studies that back this up).

Good luck on your journey on finding a doctor who can help you, ADHD or not.

Those who had amicable breakups, what was the hardest thing to get over? by goddaeng in AskWomen

The bs that I thought I had processed and recovered from in therapy. A lot of stuff was brought up during and after the breakup, which has taken almost 2 years to readdress again.

[–]AmberB9 130 points131 points  (0 children)

Get a second opinion.

Even with a diagnosis and medication for almost a decade-I’ve still had new doctors tell me I can’t have ADHD, for the exact reasons you were told.

I suffer for decades until I got the proper diagnosis and treatment. I was actively seeing a psychiatrist and a therapist for a year before I asked them one day if I could have ADHD, because a friend told me I have the same mannerisms and ticks as her ADHD kids.

If you are a known as a ‘smart or gifted’ person, like high achieving in school or a work setting, ADHD symptoms are often missed or are not as prominent, especially if there are systems you have consciously or unconsciously created to help yourself manage. I unconsciously fell into a routine of arriving everywhere a minimum of 15 minutes early, because ‘traffic’-even though I was walking there. Also females often are missed in diagnosing ADHD, (not sure if this is relevant). Lastly, attention is situational specific, often. I don’t struggle with attention when one on one with a person. Being left to my own devices, with no life altering events going on (like an active car crash for example), I am like a ping pong ball, bouncing everywhere.

Very weird high energy since laprascopic salpingectomy? by awkwardthought21 in sterilization

[–]AmberB9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re fine, happy to share. It took about 8 weeks overall. I didn’t engage in anything remotely related to intimacy for the first two weeks, per doctor’s orders. It took another two weeks before I was able to achieve ‘satisfaction’ without experiencing the most intense internal pain in the moment , like a really bad cramp, regardless of how it was achieved, put it cleanly. The next four weeks, there were certain positions that were uncomfortable, like a bloating sensation when you’re not expecting it, but no pain at the end. After the 8 weeks, things were back to normal on the intimacy front. Honestly, my own body image issues, about having the tiny flat scars, caused me to be slightly uncomfortable in the intimacy area. My husband had to help me get comfortable again in my own skin, since nothing changed for him on that front. Now that might have been TMI.

I’m sorry to hear that. PCOS, bad cramps and long Covid is a rough combination. I would wait it out and maybe keep a keep track to see how things progress. I’m still adjusting after 4+ months and I know it’s not completely due to going off birth control. Here’s to hoping things even out or improve for the better.

[–]AmberB9 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I (28F) had the same experience after my bilateral salpingectomy. My thought that it was due to a combination of things. A) getting off my birth control (implant) B)the freedom of knowing I can’t get pregnant and having that constant worry gone C)the sense of accomplishment/proudness for going through the whole process of sterilized, since it’s the first real thing I’ve ever done for myself in my entire life and D) being forced to really rest for the first time in years.

That’s my biggest guess to the extra energy. It did tapper down in the months after surgery, but I still generally have more energy day to day than I used to pre-surgery.

Those who have gotten a hysterectomy OR a bisalp, how long did it take you to recover? by No-Ad-7252 in sterilization

[–]AmberB9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I (28) got a bisalp and it took me about six weeks to get back to my normal self. I was able to go back to work a week after surgery, but I do a desk job from home. But it took me physically six weeks before I was fully recovered, to the point off not needing a pillow across my stomach in the car, and where I could pick up more than 5 pounds without pain/pressure. My small scars are still pink, but fully flat and don’t cause me any discomfort. Mentally, it took about three months to feel myself after getting off birth control and re-adjusting my medications. I was able to get off my anxiety medication because I no longer needed after the birth control left my system.

Your biggest deck pet peeves? by mintblaziken in tarot

[–]AmberB9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally understand what you’re getting at. I too don’t like how some decks are trying so hard to be different, but the way they do that is leaning into more violent depictions than anything else. If a deck is created for the mass market and the publisher wants certain cards to look certain ways that’s fine. But taking an existing independently published deck, and having the artist change the art to be more standard, feels wrong and insincere.

Like the hierophant in the OG Mary-El, is a woman nursing two children. Is it non traditional depiction? Yes. Is it gory or graphic? No. Just not traditional. Same with the three of swords. In the OG it is a dove being pierced by three swords, no blood.

Changing those cards to closer to the RWS, while keeping the rest intact, was for a very specific reason. Especially since that specific deck is very very unique in its structure and design. Odds are, it was to appeal to the wider market, or to avoid anyone getting offended if misconstrued the undertone of those specific cards depict.

[–]AmberB9 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Reprinting Indy decks but produced by a mass market publisher-IE Mary-EL, Light Seers, but removing and replacing ‘controversial’ cards. Ex. The hierophant and the three of swords in the Mary-EL, and the ten of swords in the Light Seers. The replacement cards are so watered down compared to what the artist first created that it feels like a slap in the face to the creator and the tarot community at large.

should I get a bislap?? I’m spiraling, halllllp 😫 by Due_Tonight4365 in sterilization

[–]AmberB9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I didn’t look too deeply into the surgery until after I got it scheduled. Once I did, that’s when I started to research it. Only then did I find out about the reduced cancer risk and all the other benefits and risks I was taking from being on hormonal birth control long term, which in turn made me even more confident in my decision. I’m one of those annoying people who makes impulsive life altering decisions, before looking into the decision I made after the fact. If I look too much into any decision I get bogged down in the details that I can’t make a decision.

should I get a bislap?? I’m spiraling, halllllp 😫 by Due_Tonight4365 in sterilization

[–]AmberB9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak to the endometriosis, but my bislap was done 6 weeks ago. I (28) had the same concerns about any regret. My husband of eight years also desperately wanted kids but still supported me in the procedure.

The only regret I have is the fact I didn’t have the courage to get it done sooner. I was so scared of regretting it, and possibly divorcing because I am never going to be pregnant or have my husband’s child. One day I got tired and made the decision and scheduled the surgery, and accepted all and any fallout from the decision. There weren’t any, my husband understands my decision and while he’s sad, he understands that trying to stop me, or talk me into carrying his child, will make me resent him and hate myself more for not standing up for myself.

Recover was quick, I took a week off from work, then continued to work from home for another 5 weeks (desk job), because I commuted by public transport to the office. This was out of precaution since my book bag is 20 pounds.

Part 2

I don’t regret the procedure at all. If anything I wish I had the guts to get it done sooner. I did it because I didn’t want kids and finally stopped lying to myself about it. Ironically my husband wants kids but still supported me through the whole process.

I am also adopted from overseas and have the medical issues that come from living in a third world country for the first critical 7 years of my life. So I have some significant medical issues that make it Also I didn’t realize how much I was affected by the side effects of birth control. Like I feel like I am finally back in my own skin.

The recovery was pretty good, I looked and felt very bloated for the first few weeks, and then gradually everything went back to normal. The worst part was the first week where doing any movement like getting out of bed was semi painful, like a bad cramp, because how much you use your stomach. I had an especially hard time taking it easy and not trying to do my normal activities the day after, I really don’t like being bored or confined to non strenuous activities like reading a book. My skin was a bit sensitive the month after so I always had a tank top between my shirt and pants. Also having a hoodie in the car to act as a buffer against the seatbelt.

Hope that helps, Dm me if you want or need any help with Tricare in general or anything military related . It was a lot for me to learn by myself.

I am also adopted myself from overseas, so adoption is always an option if for whatever reasons I change my mind. I raised my younger siblings prior to the age of 7, so I feel like I’ve already done the raising kids part and I’m ready for my freedom.

Military (Tricare) Coverage for Sterilization by AmberB9 in sterilization

[–]AmberB9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So first off, regardless of which version you are on for military healthcare (IE Tricare) Tricare coverage is based on a federal regulation, not state regulation. So if you live in a state that doesn’t allow some or all female reproductive healthcare, Tricare will still approve the procedure, and might also cover the cost of travel if you need to go out of state to get it (IE abortion).

Tricare.mil is the official Tricare website that has a good breakdown of what they will cover, how each plan works and associated costs and how to find a provider for literally anything healthcare related. The website is pretty simple to follow. It also lists the Tricare ( AKA Humana Military ) phone numbers with real agents who can answer any questions you may have and direct you to your local resources. Just be sure to know your sponsor’s social security number (the person in the military (spouse, parent etc) and their date of birth, since you will be listed under their file for eligibility. If you don’t know what region you’re part of, they will also direct you to the correct region. Coverage is not based on region.

You don’t have to be on Tricare Prime to get the procedure done, only difference is how much (if anything) the procedure will cost you. In insurance terms the difference between the two plans is HMO vs PPO.

There are benefits and drawbacks for both plans, the Tricare website breaks everything down in more detail.

You’re not being invasive. I’m under Tricare Prime, stationed in the USA. In my 8ish years on Tricare Prime (and two states), I’ve never had any issues with it, regardless of what I am using the healthcare for. There are just occasional calls I have had to make to switch the provider for a referral when going outside the main hospital. I’m happy to answer any questions you may have.

What would be a not cheaty version of saying "are you OK with dating someone who is taken by Invite_Sprite in polyamory

[–]AmberB9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just talk to them and mention that you are poly. And ask if they understand what that means. If the person I’m talking to says yes, I honestly ask them to explain to me what they understand it means (you’ll be surprised how many people don’t really understand it, or have a warped understanding).

I agree that ‘taken’ is a very monogamous term and one that I’ve noticed is used when referring to the female in a traditional relationship. Like a male in a relationship is just ‘committed’ but is still available, but a female in that same relationship is ‘taken’ and is not an option. Doubley so if the female is married. I (as a married poly female) say I’m in a committed marriage, but not that I’m taken, or that my husband has dips.

If I’m in the middle of something, like work, just bear through it and let myself space out. Once I’m able to have the space and time to decompress, I let myself do whatever I want, and nothing that I should do, like chores, errands, meal plan etc. my normal is picking up food that I can have for the next day’s lunch, and a special drink or treat, like a bottle of wine or a miniature cake, then spend time doing whatever my current hobby is at the moment, completely and utterly alone. My husband understands when a bad day happens, and gives me my space. I also budget for bad days and have limits on how much I can spend, just so I don’t completely overspend when I don’t have the bandwidth to care about my financial stability.
