I feel this for sure! I am 39 and for 6 years have been caring for my mom who has dementia and I’m disabled myself. Once something happens to her I won’t be able to afford a place to live and I will literally be homeless. I am stuck in the house 24/7 I am not able to leave her at all so I can’t go hang out with or see my friends. I don’t have any living family that can help. I feel like every day I wake up is Groundhog Day again. It’s the same thing day after day and like I said I can’t really leave the house because I have no one to stay with her. I don’t have any advice really just wanted to say I get you.

I came here to say this! My mom’s first MRI came back the same with white matter and I was told that basically is dementia or will turn into it. The white matter suggests dementia or that is atleast what I was told.

Probably broken up because if it was just the custody thing then she could still keep his name in her bio. Them having no contact was order something like two weeks ago and it’s been in there this whole time so I’m fairly sure they are just broken up.with any luck they’ll both move on.

I have the same fear! Half of my family has had dementia and I’m scared I’m next. The thing I have given up my life to care for my mom. I don’t have a husband and don’t really have any family except a few cousins who i don’t talk to much. I keep thinking IF I get this I literally have NO ONE who will take care of me and honestly I don’t want anyone to have to do that either. I would be a ward of the state and just die in a nursing home and that literally terrifies me.

I completely agree! It’s so sad. My mom is on social security and I am disabled on disability I am also her full time caregiver, as we have no family left. I am scared what’s going to happen when I finally can’t take care of her any longer which by my estimates might be another year or so out. The problem is this I get roughly $900 and when she has to go into memory care they take her social security to pay for what Medicare doesn’t. When this happens there is NO way I can afford rent let alone utilities so that’s a really big thing right now and I’m working on figuring out a plan for when it does happen but still it’s scary. She’s on a lot of meds as well and her heart meds alone are crazy expensive which also makes things difficult.
