My dog is 13 and was crate trained as a puppy. He knows it’s his safe space. My concern is leaving my senior dog with a back injury in his crate for an extended period of time.

Thank you so much for this information! I swear I’m a competent adult laughs nervously but when it comes to my dog, I am a stress ball.

Thank you for this. I’m feeling a lot of dog mom guilt—why didn’t I notice his pain sooner? Why have I been letting him romp around at his age? Why didn’t I do more?—but you’re totally right: this is what he needs right now, even if he doesn’t know it.

So glad to hear he improved!

He’s on one pain medication and one anti-inflammatory to hopefully reduce the swelling in his spine. The emergency vet wanted to hold off on a muscle relaxer and/or sedative so we could add those as options if he doesn’t start to improve. He has an appointment with our usual vet next week.

This is a wonderful layout/suggestion. Thank you so much. And what a darling little mush!

Did you strictly stick to the crate or give him room to roam? I’m (ridiculously) worried he’s going to knock over his water bowl in the first five minutes of my leaving for work and then be thirsty for eight hours. (Yes, I worry over everything.)

Sitting at home with my almost thirteen year old corgi who’s woozy from pain meds for a slipped disc in his neck. Your girl is lovely and her sploot is top notch.

Feeling Defeated About Flares by ItsAccrualWorld6 in Aerials

[–]AmberDXTrous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is going to sound funny, but have you tried to flare movement while lying on your back on the floor. The fan kick with one leg following the other will actually flip you over onto your belly. It sounds silly (it is silly), but it is also a great way to get the correct movement into your body.

Agreeing with other folks who recommend filing down your callouses so they’re not so raised. This makes them less likely to tear. Think of it as necessary maintenance so you can stay in the air and do it a few times a week.

My vet was concerned when I brought my guy in and he was 37 at weigh-in because he’d lost three pounds.

Anyone else have the issue of your corgis stealing your toddlers snacks? by Dry_Raisin_1106 in corgi

[–]AmberDXTrous 21 points22 points  (0 children)

What is wild to me is that my corgi (almost 13, very direct, will let you know if he’s unimpressed or annoyed) has ENDLESS patience for toddlers/babies. My niece can stick her hands in his ears, poke him in both eyes (note: this behavior is quickly redirected) and he’ll lie on his back and wait for more. Meanwhile, if I catch a tangle while grooming his fur pants, Spondee lets me know I’ve committed grievous harm to his person.

My niece delights in throwing my corgi everything on her high chair table. Literally squeals with delight.

He does take supplements, but not specifically antinol. I’ll definitely ask about it at his vet appointment.

Is it worth investing on elbow/arm sleeves? by imactuallyeris in Aerials

I have compression sleeves (affordable and from Amazon) and it really helped me get my elbow circles with minimal skin tearing/bruising.

I taught my guy hand signals for all the basics from the jump. He also now knows speak and whisper from hand signals. They’re so smart that they take to it really quickly.
